Listening to that is a surreal experience. Until recently, these commentators were Lance FanBoys who knew bupkis about cycling. They thought all bikers were covered with tatts and rode Harleys. They're the same people who wore multiple yellow rubber bands on either wrist and attacked anyone who dared speak the truth about Pharmstrong, calling them "jealous" or "haters" and quoting ad nauseum from the Pharmstrong catechism: most tested athlete, more than 500 tests, never a positive. The three men commentators were so rancorous, it was as if they were competing to see which of them could concoct the most painful form of execution for Pharmstrong.

I don't know whether to pat them on the back and bid them "Welcome!", or slap them and shout, "Where the bloody hell have you been the past 10 years?"

Here's the USA Today article referenced in the podcast.

After these last couple of difficult weeks, Lance probably wants to spend time with his family. Time for a vacation.

Mate after these couple of weeks i need a vacation. My missus is about to show me the door! Not really but its been absolutely mental.

I thought some day this may happen but not like it just did.

Lances lawyer Sean Breen in an audio clip. 12 1/2 minutes long.

If it doesn't appear click on "other".

Four other audio clips available as well on same page, Kelly, Lance, Walsh and Hamilton.

Plus Stefan Roche remembering the future!! http://www.rte.ie/sport/cycling/2012/1019/342330-stephen-roche-says-doping-problem-in-the-past/

That Sean Breen is one slimy dude. I think I am going to take a shower after listening to that.

He's more sharp and articulate than that Herman character. He actually does a pretty good tap dance to the questions asked. But he dam has busted, and his spin has spun out.

These are probably the guys that worked out the Livestrong scam and the methods Armstrong uses to enrich himself (and his scumbag lawyers) by exploiting cancer.

I might be late to the party on this piece of news:

"USA Cycling strips Lance Armstrong's name from race series"

"Previously named the Lance Armstrong Junior Race Series (LAJRS), the series will now be known as the USA Cycling Road Development Race Series."

Seeing as how most of the prominent USA pros of the past 15-20 years have been cheaters, how is this new name an improvement? Isn't the name "USA Cycling" tainted and practically synonymous with drugs?

Couldn't they have named it after LeMond, or Hampsten?

An even better symbolic choice might be Scott Mercier, who quit USPS rather than do drugs, which puts him well ahead of the likes of JV or any of the others in my book. The fact that cycling fans in the USA know the names Armstrong, Landis, Hamilton, Leipheimer, Hincapie, Zabriskie, or Vaughters and do not know the name Mercier is a crime that desperately needs to be rectified, and soon.
