I'm just sick and fu*king tired of the guy. He just needs to go the fu*k away.

Even when it has been proved that he is a liar, a bully and a cheat he just can't help himself not be the centre of attention.

It's been a tough year for you, champ. Have a hug.

My view of Lance Armstrong trying to redeem himself is that he doesn't need to apologize to other atheltes or to us. He doesn't need to make any excuses or reasons for why he did it. At the top level of athletics, if you're not doping, you shouldn't be competing. That's how I feel about it. Everyone is doing it, if you're not, then you're not going to win. If you want to perform clean, then this is not the place for you. It makes no sense to compete against those who will do whatever is possible to extend the limits of their genetics to win if you're not willing to do the same. You're going to lose. It's a waste of your time and effort, is how I see it. You're unlikely to make a living out of it if you're not going doping. Sure maybe you can join a low level team, get paid a little, but you're going to need a full time job outside of it.

I have outmost respect for Lance Armstrong's achievements and Phelps, Bolt and others like them. Doping did not get them their medals and achievements, doping just gave them what they needed to compete against their competitors who are also doping. Lance Armstrong simply is incredible. His genetics is superior to most of us, his body certainly responded to doping better than others. But let's face it, he also trained differently. He trained for goals and times, he trained hard to make sure he could outpace his competitors on the hills. Spend an entire year to do so, while his competitors were just training for fitness. He trained for the Tour de France. The first to do so. Others trained to be great cyclists, he trained to be Tour de France champion.

Post-gunshot LeMond did pretty much train only for the Tour de France. Funny that he beat Armstrong even at that.

Travis Tygart

This is a great video of Travis Tygart speaking today. Talks about the current false narrative of how Armstrong was treated different. Also how POS d***heads like Sally Jenkins and Matthew McConaughey tried to use media influence to manipulate the public. Death threats he recieved etc.

what? to what end?

how was that going to "help cycling"?

Help cycling? Cycling is in the mess that it is in because the people were afraid of the damage that would be done if they actually did try to clean up the sport. Everything that is happening now should have happened in 98.

Pretty cool interview. Quite funny at times.

I get the feeling that he expected USADA to come beg him before they acted.
He should've known since the fed investigation, that had been running for a year, that if he wants to cut a deal he needs to come in, so I don't buy his whole 'treated differently than others' plea. No sh*t you're not gonna get anything if you're off doing Ironman races in France instead of GOING to USADA.

Rest of the interview has some points that are valid. Shame all these things are way too late and really there's nothing new that he can offer.

What the hell is with American media culture?

I don't want jokes, I don't want family photos, I don't want you to kiss Norwegian *** (especially after Koss) and have a love-in...

Just make your presentation.

Now I do like the two comments at the bottom of the article. Would be funny if not so true.

Could only get a few questions into the interview, then I had to run to the washroom, puke, and find some bleach to scrub my eyeballs with.

Apparently he never read the Reasoned Decision. Maybe that's why he keeps trying to get back into sport. Read the thing, you f*cking ***! It's all pretty clear.

Done. And, done.

The interview is interesting. I tend to believe Armstrong about what kind of offer was made by USADA, that everyone else was offered specific terms and he was told, "Come out with your hands up." If Hincapie and Leipheimer confirm the conversation with the Garmin boys about all of them talking to each other about their deals then Tygart's credibility will take a big hit. Just like Armstrong made media appearance after media appearance denying his doping, Tygart has given interview after interview claiming everyone, including Armstrong, was treated the same. Tygart would be better off if he admitted the goal was to get Armstrong and he made deals to do that. Instead it is likely he will be shown to be a liar.

That answer about the reasoned decision being much more than expected is also interesting. It makes me suspect that Armstrong felt that with the usual decision issued by USAD he would have room to make his own case to the public. The size and detail of the decision prevented that. It would also not surprise me if there were talks between him and his sponsors, and the sponsors were expecting Armstrong to be able to weather the storm with a PR campaign. They stuck with him until it became apparent that the completeness of the decision made that impossible.

It's funny that he mentions how his attorneys don't want him to say anything...and he then goes on to claim to have no memory of the hospital conversation at all because he just got out of brain surgery and was heavily medicated (the cancer shield is soooo 2006)...then he says definitively that Nichols wasn't in the room...what room Lance? You don't remember a thing about any such conversation...Ironic that he does just the thing his attorneys want him to avoid: exposing that a liar will always give up the fact they're lying sooner or later.

Let me be Lance for a moment, "Listen you anonymous troll, I'm a legend! Those USADA people are on a witch hunt to crucify me for being The 7x Winner of the TdF because they hate Winners." "They don't understand what went on, you don't either. Only I know. It all makes perfect sense if you only were a champion like me and Eddie Merckx. But you are not, so go hate someone else."

And that knowledge changes, contradicts itself, and maintains Wonderboy's greatness all at the same time. Don't you see how it makes perfect sense!?!

And with Wonderboy, it's immediate and apparent to everyone. We are really, really lucky he is such a terrible actor.

The thing that USADA did very, very well was tell the story in such a way it was complete for practically everyone who read even little bits and it summarized so well that there was no room for a counter-attack.

Yeah, there are some truth-like details to a number of the statements that are clearly not likely, but they don't matter so much.

I think he is being milked, and this is all part of it, he is being done, done and done and done some more till he cant be done no more.

If Tygart is found to be lying, it will end up in court i guess with Armstrong's lawyer rubbing their hands, kerching kerching.........
