Interesting new interview with Hincapie. It turns out he didn't really apologize to Frankie. He clarified what he said, which is not that surprising given his remarks were being overinterpreted by trolls online. To be fair, if you took Hincapie's words in a highly literal fashion, you could conclude he was saying Frankie was the doping mastermind, but I think most people will have assumed what he meant was that Frankie was just a more experienced guy who was already doping and this had an effect on him. Which is true, isn't it? I think he is wise not to contact Betsy directly. She would simply spin his words again to further her own agenda.

Frankie had an effect on him?

Funny how Frankie had no effect him when he refused to use Ferrari, stopped using EPO, do transfusions, lie about this doping, smear his friends etc.

Frankie was George's mentor.......except when he wasn't

But that's a clever use talking points. The fact is, Frankie was one of the more experienced guys using when Hincapie showed up. That's all he meant. Yes it's true that Betsy found out and dramatically changed the direction of Frankie's career, but that's really a separate issue to how it will have effected the young Hincapie to see Frankie juicing merrily. Without Betsy, Frankie would have seen Ferrari and stayed with Lance through most of his tour wins, of course, as everyone on the team knew. As she proudly admits, she blackmailed him into stopping, but even then he carried on for awhile. That's a whole different story.

a quick fun vid and back to more important things.

Greg's intellect shows ..

Makes me miss Floyd's (not-so)subtle digs at Lance. Anybody remember the FU Landowski on truesport? Any way to recover the old pages?

Lance Armstrong is happy. In fact, he looks better at 42 than I've ever seen him, less gaunt in the face, thicker in the chest, bluer in the eyes. I found a man sitting in his den, surrounded by his seven Tour de France chalices, his 3-year-old, Olivia, on his lap, kissing him and laughing.

Really ****ed me off.

Me: "Don't you realize how many people hate you over this?"

Him: "I just don't care. In the past, I cared what people said, thought or wrote. I thought it would affect my livelihood. But that's been decimated now. When I walk through airports now, a guy could say, 'Hey you f---ing a--h---! You're the biggest jerk on the face of the earth!' I'd say, 'Right on, pal.'

Thanks Greg.

Nobody believes him.

If it were true he wouldn't be conspiring with Hincapie and the Detroit press to slander Frankie or getting 'ol pal Rick Reilly to interview him in his den....

He would talk to Walsh, Kimmage, Betsy and Tygart......

Armstrong still trying desperately to control the narrative. That boat has sailed.

It was written by Rick Reilly, aka the journalistic equivalent of a wheelsucker. Should come as no surprise that as Lance dangles tentacles everywhere looking to snag someone willing to buy the most recent narrative, that Reilly was the mouthbreather who gleefully plunged into entanglement.

"Lance Armstong is happy."

Sure. Sure he is, bud.

This final charade should disappear after Lance is forced to testify. Really hope no one on the Texass Supreme Court buys his most recent appeal.

I can't figure out any sane strategy behind Lance's trying to take this case up to the Texas Supreme Court.

(1) It appears that no stay is in place. In other words, there is no Texas court order preventing the arbitration panel from doing anything.

(2) Lance has to persuade the Texas Supreme Court to take his case before he can ask it to stop the arbitration. The Texas Supreme Court is unlikely to do this because it doesn't want every person who thinks that he or she is going to lose an arbitration running off to court in an attempt to get the Court to oversee the process. This would clog the courts even more and frustrate the whole purpose of (speedy) arbitration. This is where the whole idea of precedent really kicks in. The bottom line is that Lance can, and should, wait until the arbitration is over and then take his shot at the Courts. He is prematurely litigating. :)

Lance appears to be just burning money for the sake of burning money. Either that, or Lance has been infected by ultra-parasitic lawyers.

Does anybody else have another explanation for Lance's behavior?

I still think the strategy is to do anything to keep LA from having to go under oath.

But I don't see this particular tactic furthering that goal. See what I mean?

Yeah, it is kinda silly. The case is still scheduled for late June early July so this nonsense really does not do anything but burn money and billable hours. Given he has to pay both sides costs Bob don't care. There is a slight delay in the need to go under oath, perhaps that helps him in the Fed case?

It also might just be force of habit. For decades all he has done is delay and play games. That is all they know

I agree with you. Maybe it is just desperation? Or as RR has suggested LA is just so used to trying to control the agenda he doesn't know any better.

One fine day scientists will discover the centre of the Universe, and Lance will be utterly disappointed. As will Valverde and dirty Alberty.....

It sure seems as if he is getting bad advice.
or maybe thinking that sentiment against him will cool with time and that it may affect the outcome.

Who knows what the eff Lance thinks....
I don't care but I just want to see him lose this and the qui tam!

...and it would be sweeeet if he had to go under oath

Do you really think he will testify, or "suddenly" settle to prevent that?

This. He'll "suddenly" settle when/if hes forced to go that route, he knows it, we know it. Everyone knows he won't testify.

Lance appears to be just burning money for the sake of burning money. Either that, or Lance has been infected by ultra-parasitic lawyers.

Could be another strategy on his part? Burn through most of your $$$, then if you have to settle the QT case, you don't have nearly enough $$$ to pay out.

Either way, Wonderboy has never struck many to be very bright.

The article on cycling news about Armstrong appealing to the state's highest court about a lower court's decision to allow SCA to commence proceedings to recover the settlement money it paid Armstrong is just Lance staying his execution (again).
