Official Lance Armstrong Thread: Part 3 (Post-Confession)

Armstrong still raised enormous amounts of money for cancer research and got a lot of people riding bikes. I don't buy this narrative that he was some super villain, the people that went on to disparage him were complicit and benefited, although not nearly as much and I think that bred a lot of jealously.
I don't think he was unique in how he doped. I do think he was a generational athletic talent.
What he did was of course wrong and he wasn't a nice guy but his horribleness is really overblown. I think he gets a lot of hate from a nationalistic angle. All the doctors that came up with the doping protocols were European, the athletes that pioneered EPO+test+HGH were European and all the drugs came from Europe.
I don't believe the Armstrong foundation ever raised money for cancer research. Originally I believe it was to raise awareness of cancer. Now their mission is:

"Our mission is centered around this one question. We make immediate impact on the lives of people affected by cancer and seek out solutions to support quality of life today—and for every step of the journey."

i dont think so. btw, how sick is the Floyd Landis chapter of that book? dude was nuts.
Landis was absolutely parallel.. He was fully gased, when he was popped he had a full bag of excuses, not my test, must have been excess Jack Daniels from celebrating, bunch of awesomeness!!
Then after he was caught trying to hack computers to get or alter his records, he went next level Borne Identity!! Tried to break into drug lab records!! Absolutely fantastic!!
Then he knew he was a made man and like the rest, knew secret dirt on everyone as an insider, he asked Lance for work, Armstrong said no, Landis said either hire me or else.. Or else happened and Landis ratted him out..
Landis was micro Lance, had a book and media tour raising money because he needed to defend his innocence..
Landis was part of an absolutely golden parachute for Armstrong, pay out fines, settlements, hush money, judgments and still have money left over, no jail time!!
Landis got some Armstrong ashtray money, used it for his pot business and to field a team sponsored by his drug selling business. Like too many it was ego not long term and team and sponsorship withered because after all Armstrong payments were 1 and done.. Armstrong moved on..still sitting at the table with hitters, not heavy hitters but hedge fund folks that pool their millions to back small companies.. Don't know if Lance has made more money post confession, but that's my guess.
A good script would be if Armstrong would have tried to just play Whack a Mole, with all the people out to get him, he had a full circular firing squad!!
Feds, Walsh, LeMond, Landis, and half dozen others had a noose and he never got it!! Now he is middle aged drinking wine and tequila in Aspen or Austin his pleasure. Guy came out smelling like a rose and that pisses people off as much as him lying and getting caught..
The story of Landis as a victim is comedy gold..or Roberto Gaggioli as a wronged Italian hero!!
