"Remember take it easy today and tomorrow"

Guess what happened on March 25th... But thanks to Kik he never crossed the red line since 2005 :D

I think you are soft-pedaling the extent of the role the UCI played. I'm not joking. They were in and in pretty early if they were covering pre-TdF win positives.

USADA does not name the UCI, the TDF or Cycling USA as parties to the conspiracy. It names Bruyneel, Ferrari etal.

Because their charter is athlete-level anti-doping. Now, they could, in theory, go after the UCI, but that would not be okay by the rules as they are and the IOC would simply not allow it.

The way the USADA documentation was written gives strength to the idea that that anti-doping is still, even with the bio-passport, theater. It's there to reinforce the legitimacy of the Olympic games, not actually discourage athletes from doping.

Video and article here:

In the complaint, Stutzman said he "doesn't buy a lot of books or read a lot" but was inspired Armstrong's book.

I guess Armstrong knew he was opening himself up to fallacious lawsuits when he decided to do the interview.

it's in the book

ferarri writes 'Therefore Armstrong would have achieved the same level of performance without resorting to doping, also thanks to his talent which was far superior to the rivals of his era'

surely a doctor would be astute enough to realise not to believe all one reads
in books

So is Ferrari going to return the $1,000,000+ that Armstrong paid him?

Well clearly he deserves that money as he spend 15 years counseling Lance to do less PEDS rather than more, as they adversely affected his performance.

Or at least that's what Ferrari is now claiming.

With the UK's ridiculous libel laws it goes the other way.

In the U.S. people sue and win money from liars.

In the U.K. people sue and win money from people telling the truth.

Odd that Lance hasn't pursued residency. Isn't this the only lawsuit he has actually won (SCA was an arbitrated decision)?

Dave.

Wiggins seems to have memory problems indeed, from "never raced together" to "it was obvious he was doping in 2009"...

Hopefully his memory is ok when he boasts about "I had the best feeling in the world when [Armstrong] starts welling up about his 13-year-old son having to ask what's this all about. I never have to have that conversation with my own son – his father has won the Tour clean"...

Wiggins saying Lance was being a "Lying *******" during the interview.

Because he was doped in 09 and denying him a podium place.

Seems to have moves on from saying it was a myth that they ever raced together.

Just to put a finer point on the lying Brad Wiggins thing:

This is from an interview on 11 October 2012

Well that's a myth. I never actually raced against Lance Armstrong. In my whole reign [sic] really. I raced once against him in the Criterium International 2004, never at the Tour de France... um yeah so that was the only time really

Well, Brad, there might have been this time:

Then, there might have been this other time:

Darn those cameras.

Must have been all that pot he was smoking after this year's Tour. Messes up the memory.

 Really! How much did the book cost? They're paying lawyers to recover what ... $25.00???

I think they might get punitive damages. Perhaps Cimacoppi or Mark could comment on this.

They don't pay the lawyers. They are invited to join the "class". The only people who make any real money are the lawyers. The people in the class would get a free book coupon at best. The lawyers spend enough time on the suit that their fee is a big portion of the settlement or judgment. All that being said, I hope they win big. Suck some cash out of people in on the fraud (of the books here) and remind journalists and publishers they should do some fact checking. This is an unfortunate way that freedom of speech works in the USA. You can say or write pretty much whatever you want, but if you defraud people in the process your day in court will arrive.

Edit: I meant to quote the entire post above mine. Long time reader, new poster, learning the ropes. And posting from a Windows Surface RT to boot!
