The link is behind a paywall when I click - can anyone paraphrase the gist of the letter, or link to a non paywall version (presumably it's not copyright of WSJ?)?

Thanks

It opens when you put 'June 8 letter from Lance Armstrong attorney to USADA' on google.

The link I put in post 2866 works.

Edit, no it doesn't. Google it like he said and click the result.

Thanks. That was a good read. I started off on page one thinking, yeah. That's about right. Then in page two it turns markedly and launches into the usual lies and distortions about Armstrong's record and "vendettas".

Good comedy.

Proving lawyers will write anything for a pay check!

Good grief!

Do you think Lance was supervising the writing? I can just hear him saying, "Come on guys, this needs to more snap and juice. Really drill it to them!"

Lance's response to the whole scandal--despite having the money to hire the best lawyers, crisis managers, and PR people--has been so ad hoc and self-contradictory that Lance has to micromanaging the response.

"Lance we need to apply sound legal basis with our letter, so we...."

"Look guys I don't care about applying the law just scare them off from proceeding further, do you get that? - what am I paying you idiots for?"

This made me think of the classic "Lance Armstrong is a Jerk" video:

That video is quite funny.

Lance is in so much trouble. I read the other day he has given himself a $17million fighting fund lol. That's not going to even touch it.

He cant come out now and spill all and begin his resurrection and he cant wait until after his court cases because he'll be bankrupt, plus his info will have already been dragged out of him.

Rock and a hard place.

Personally Id like to hear his full story but also I don't want the guy living in the gutter. Make some deals, get his full story and finally move on.

The "fighting fund" sounds like empty talk from a known liar. Later on he'll argue that he is facing insolvency if he thinks that will help him. Who knows what the truth about Armstrong's finances really is.

Most of his money came from sponsors. His net worth is $125 Million. He stands to lose the maximum of $120 Million from the Landis lawsuit. Which leaves him $5 million. That is not living in the gutter. He will be better off than the many honest men & women toiling out there in the world trying to make ends meet.

But he doesn't have $125m in cash.

$125m is career earnings. Either spent, invested into a sagging economy or used to pay staff, divorces, lawyers and upkeep of properties.

$5m is also not much when you have zero income coming through for the next 20 years.

He's got to find a way out of this legal mess and then look at how to earn again.

I just can't see him doing either.

He'd be better off being the average honest man toiling in the street.

The outlook is bleak.

Wouldn't want to be him.

The Acceptance lawsuit is also a real risk for him. And he's looking at spending millions of dollars in attorney fees.

I'm not prepared to accept the $125 million net worth. That's just a very rough guess.

He might have to move back with mama if his girlfriend leaves for palimony and child support. I think he could still coach age-group BMX or something.
Yeah that would be great. He should bring his handsome belgian friend as well. They would be just the guys, to explain what it takes to be successful in this world..

Any suggestion that Armstrong wasn't offered a deal, and especially the same deal as those who testified, is total nonsense. All the evidence shows that he was totally determined to destroy USADA at the time - why would he negotiate a deal under these conditions and more importantly why would USADA offer one until he showed a minimum of desire to come clean? Until the reasoned decision was released, and even for a time after, he was sure he would get away with everything and carry on his merry life destroying those who questioned the myth and scamming his cancer foundation.

Armstrong never had $125million.

Stapleton and Weisel got a big chunk of whatever he earned.

I wonder does Armstrong know how much he has and if others are keeping his eyes averted as they spend his money.

He no doubt has money in offshore havens, but his future is bleak unless he does a full 180 and helps out USADA with everything. But Lance aint gonna do that or if he does it will be too late. He'll be doing a Tom Daly and selling his stuff at the ToC from the back of a truck in a few years.

Could someone please provide me with a summary of all important things that happened, lets say, after Oprah.
Since Lance admitted, he is done for me. What a knobhead.

Lost a lot of money

I stopped being interested in this drama, but now since it is getting colder I start getting bored and visit my old friends in the CN forum again. And I think the hardcore clinicians didn't miss one detail.
Sorry, my english got even worser now. PM welcome too. Also interested in all the forum stuff. Papp incident, best of etc.
THanks.

Currently I am reading TH's book. I am now at the point where he moved to CSC.
I must say it's highly amusing and somehow sad at the same time. The pain stuff, Edgar, descriptions of several riders etc.
Book is written in very good style. Soaking it up. Thumbs up. Not many bad words about LA. Pure class.

I think Tygart offered an 8 year ban. That was Lance's big sticking point because he wanted to Livestrong himself some triathlons. I don't think that he was offered the 6 month ban that his employees got.
