While SCA had legitimate suspicions that LA had doped to win the 2004 TDF, I suspect they just didn't have enough evidence to show LA in fact doped at the 2004 Tour. The Andreu evidence for example only related to LA's pre-cancer doping.

This has been pointed out, but the critical point was NOT that there was insufficient evidence of doping.

The critical point was that the Hole-In-One contract did not expressly cover doping. At the time, doping was effectively the entire case that SCA was to present.

Notably, the correspondence with SCA during the Hole-In-One contract negotiation included that Lance would lose his Tailwind contract if he doped.

That was a lie. He and Stapleton had expressly modified the Tailwind contract to remove references to doping

The salient point now, and as previously agreed, is that he has been stripped.

Secondarily, there was a conspiracy - highlighted by the USADA Reasoned Decision - to defraud SCA. And, that conspiracy was consistent with the triple crown and apparently at least one classic (though why Lance chose to admit this, even though he tried to pin blame on Frankie, is beyond me).
