Not so sure about the cash stash. Remember Novitzky was an IRS guy. If there was a paper trail, he found it. Lance would be getting advice from a fool if he thinks he can hide funds. Even Switzerland is coughing up the occasional US citizen to comply with the disclosure agreements now in place with the USA.

Armstrong had a private jet. Bet he flew a lot of $$$$s offshore.

It also was reported that he sometimes was paid race prize money in cash. It stands to reason that some of those (alleged) suitcases full of European currency never reached America or the USA banking system and the jurisdiction of their Internal Revenue Service.

Exactly! He's been hiding money for years imo. Like I said, you don't get to where he was financially w/o knowing some folks who can make money magically disappear.

I've been making money disappear for years... generally by spending it. Its not hard to do

All this talk is a little stupid. Its one thing to send money offshore, another to bring it back on-shore. Its not as easy as one may think unless you immigrate to a new country for life.

Eduardo Saverin, the 30-year-old co-founder of Facebook, renounced his U.S. passport, sometime last year. The news became public just weeks ahead of the anticipated IPO.

Tax purposes are probably the biggest reason for his citizenship renouncement.

If Saverin kept his U.S. passport, he would be paying up to 40 percent in income tax, next year.

In Singapore, where he has resided since late 2009, top earners are taxed 20 percent on earnings. Saverin will also not be paying capital gains tax on his investment.

Hmmm.... Tough choice, living rich overseas (Caymen Islands, ect...) or living like a pariah flat broke in the good ol US of A....
I know what my choice would be. :D

First, have you ever actually looked at the prize money paid in cycling? A get rich quick scheme it is not. Second, don't you think his team-mates would have got a bit miffed at him not adhering to convention and sharing the prize money among them (they did back when he pulled off the Thrift million dollar heist)?

Cayman in a watershed. A lot of people can’t really take the children out of school, pick up and leave their country of origin and never return. No one could visit them, no family, ever. There’s no way Armstrong could do that now. It would flag too many alarms bells and he wouldn’t get out of the country after selling his last remaining assets in the US.

Lou Pai tried it but was fortunate to bail out of Enron prior to its collapse and came back to the US with $200m intact (post settlement). That will never happen again!

Didn't Hamilton and Salvodelli claim they were due monies from the winnings pot?

Was Armstrong not paid millions of dollars(Aus) to race down under? I guess he wanted that in cash.

Liggett on LA:
I built him up. I created him into a great cyclist, and he was, even though he took drugs. On the other hand, I feel hurt and cheated that we made him look better than he should've and turned him into a star.

To be fair, it wasn't just Lance. Pretty much all the top names were doing it, some of whom were never caught. I can't totally decry Lance. He raised US$600 million [$925 million] to fight cancer. I'd MC his gigs around the world. I don't believe anybody truly knew him. He'd rock up, shake hands, say 'What are we doing?' I'd say, 'This, this and this.' Then straight afterwards he was in the car with black windows and off. People say I was in his pocket and strong friends but that's totally untrue.

I was hoping against hope it wasn't drugs. I wanted absolute proof before I spoke against him and, despite what they say, they never got the proof. But they got the confession. That's what counted.

The guy was still an incredible talent and a brave man. He was virtually dead with cancer but became a life support for millions of sufferers. He spent incredible hours helping those people and raising money. It's hard to simply say, 'I hate Lance Armstrong.' And I never would.

Too much good for too many.....

Former cycling champion Lance Armstrong has listed his house in West Austin for sale, asking $8.25 million for the 8,000-square-foot property.

The house, at _______________ in the Old Enfield neighborhood, was built in 1924 and previously was owned by Ben Barnes, a former Texas lieutenant governor.

The Travis Central Appraisal District has the 8,157-square-foot house valued at $2.2 million.
Laura Gottesman, who has the listing, did not respond to an email for comment.

Gottesman Residential Real Estate’s website say that the house was recently remodeled, with design by RWM Designs and construction by Michael Deane Homes.

Located on .41 gated areas, “this property is a fantastic blend of original charm, modern amenities and timeless design,” the website says “The home has been meticulously executed with details that include plaster walls, arched doorways, walls of windows and hardwood floors.”

The house has five bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, one half-bath and seven living areas. The master suite has a sitting area and his and hers bathrooms with closets. The house also has a climate-controlled wine cellar with room for dining.

In addition to the main house, there is a pool house with a full bathroom and kitchenette.
Armstrong was a seven-time winner of the Tour de France, cycling’s most prestigious race. He was stripped of those titles after a doping scandal, and admitted in a 2013 television interview that he used banned substances.

Armstrong Says USPS 'Looked The Other Way' On Doping

Former cyclist Lance Armstrong told a DC federal judge Wednesday that the Postal Service knew professional cycling was a "cesspool" of doping when it sponsored Armstrong's career, illustrating his ongoing argument that the government won't be able to prove it was damaged by his alleged lies over performance-enhancing drug use.

Armstrong’s counsel, Elliot Peters, sketched out his case against the allegations Wednesday, as the parties come toward the end of discovery. Teeing up a likely motions battle later on this year, Peters said the judge should...

senility and delusion, ne'er truer words were thus spake [sic]

time to section him and find him a bed in a sanatorium in brighton by the sea where he can whittle his way aways on the mortal coil
