I got an email today trying to sell me this @#$%&

from the email:

"STOP DREAMING AND JOIN LANCE FOR A RIDE

Simple and focused, Lance's proven program gives you everything you need to become the rider you want to be—in just 7 weeks!
• The 7-Week Success
Plan
• A quick and easy
fitness evaluation
• Strength training
routines
• An eating plan
• Recovery strategies
• Gear and bike advice
• Bike maintenance
and repair techniques
• Road rules, etiquette
and safety tips
• Lance's inspiring
personal anecdotes
• …and much more!

TRAIN LIKE A CHAMPION"

Seems like they have to be targeting those "riders" who are paying no attention at all to what has been happening the last ten or so years with him, sort of insulting.

But, getting Lance's Etiquette tips, now that could be awesome..

Edit: it's from Rodale, I should not be surprised.

I'll bet Lance even shares his special way of wrapping handle bar tape.

Yeah I got that bicycling email too. What a laugh. It didn't say a thing about Lances recommendations on how to pick a pharmacist.

I'm not sure what would be more entertaining, his "recovery strategies" or "inspiring personal anecdotes".

Does the "etiquette" part include a clause whereby it's encouraged that etiquette is broken if it's against someone who is testifying against your doctor?

Of course. It's all about Lance. On earth....wait.....the whole universe is about Lance. Addicted to Lance.
If aliens will ever visit us, they will just come to steal Lance's socks and eat his wonderful cabbage soup. Because they find farting funny.
It's like posting in the clinic.

I have it on good authority that you've actually found a recent photo of Polish. ;)

At about the 150th page of a book i have just finished rereading i came across the " motivation " that prompted the setting up of " LiveSTRONG " ! I find the " It's not about the bike" quite motivating and from the comments in this thread it is obvious that most of you have read it more than once also !

No doubt some of you have marked the various quotations with Highlighter and may even have your own index of contents so as to go back to refute assertions made by others !

HOW so many of you having read ( perhaps your perception skills are lacking ) this book and others and then twisted those quotations to suit your own purposes defy my imagination ! That LA is not a saint is made clear in his own writings and musings but he definitely has not been " Convicted in a Legal Court " of ALL that some of you wish "! Trying to liken him to papp , flandis , shamilton and others belittles your own intellect , that is if you ever had this faculty ! Reminds me of some of those odious comments that arrived on my blogs by " anonymous " , gutless and thoughtless would have been a better moniker !

That we have passed 7900 comments on this thread alone makes me wonder how much bile is out there ? SHOULD LA find himself in a Court of Law , i doubt that any of you will treat him in the same way that you treated papp now that he has been silenced ( perhaps only temporarily ) ! Last month i was waiting like so many others with bated breathe for the predictions to be fulfilled but the Astroid sailed past EArth last night without headlines ! Which of you is going to stand in the sand pit on a soapbox and make the next pronouncement of his difficulties with this " Court of public opinion" ?

Not sure what i will do for amusement when this thread comes to a grinding halt , perhaps take to reading his pother books for a start !

Unless you can produce some of these quotes that have been "twisted" then I can understand why it defies your imagination.

Papp was a doper - he got caught and sanctioned for that.
Papp was a dealer - he got caught and sanctioned for that too.

Armstrong was a doper - I look forward to him getting treated like Papp.

Man, people on forums can't win can they? You make a claim and someone asks for proof, then you give proof and you're a loser with highlighters. If no-one here had read the book, you'd be berating them for not even letting Lance put his own case across, and challenging them to find bits of the book that backed them up. Sometimes people should consider other scenarios before criticising people.

If Lance hadn't put himself on such an enormous, self-righteous pedestal, he wouldn't have as far to fall, nor as many people interested in ensuring that he does. He's never been done in a court of law, no. I would consider that somewhat of a strawman since, well, no-one is claiming that he's ever been properly done.

Why exactly are you on a doping forum if the idea of accusing someone of doping prior to an actual conviction is so disgusting to you? What did you expect this would be, a collecting of threads saying "Is A. Cyclist doping?" with pages of replies saying "A. Cyclist has never been convicted in a court of law, so no"? Of course people are going to have opinions. Having read Lance's book, he'll have left you in no doubt that he is the biggest cyclist around, so it follows that more opinions might be had on him that others.

He isn't like the other guys you mentioned. They got caught. If trying to liken someone widely (within the cycling community) accused of doping with those convicted of it belittles intellect, I really don't know where to stand. Does it belittle the intellect of a prosecuting lawyer to compare the crime a suspect is accused of to one already committed? Of course not.

In your opinion, should there be any question marks over Lance? Bear in mind that if you never put a question mark there, you'll never get an answer.

One would not expect that he would disclose the true reason for setting up Livestrong - for his self aggrandizement and pecuniary gain. After all he had editorial control over content and the book was the source of many of LA's discredited myths.

It is pretty much settled that Armstrong systematically doped and led a team that systematically doped. You'll not find much disagreement on that here.

I know, I agree with that view. My post is almost entirely criticising the post it quoted and the ideas and logic behind it. I just felt that saying "he doped" was not a particularly enlightening reply, and wouldn't win anyone over. Attacking the broad generalisations and false logic of the post I quoted was my intention.

You're new, aren't you. You will quickly learn intelligence is not a valued trait in this thread at least. In the future, rather than trying to deconstruct flawed logic, just stick to "he doped". The fan boys will hate you and the rest will at least get your post.

The other point to note is "the book" - It’s not about the bike makes it clear he (Armstrong) was not a doper and the French were against him. If it turns out that he was a doper then I think a lot of people will be very hurt. The recovery from cancer and not using PED were inextricably linked from this point.

What gave me away, was it my post count of 10? Why would I bother make a post like that? It'd be almost as pointless as yours.
