lance looked grumpy on the podium.

My wife was amazed at how little grace he displayed and his body language, and how he hustled off the podium quickly without any acknowledgment of AC. He never misses a chance to show his low character. I am truly sad for him. King Midas.

Get used to nothing, but change. Just as Cav came from seemingly nowhere in a few years . . . so will someone else. Enjoy the present moment, it's all you'll ever have.

+1

I'd love to see AC win 5 tdf's. But next year will be a whole new year for someone else....and the year after that, and the year after that. Love today.

Armstrong could be happier . . . but champions don't like not winning. Andy didn't look too elated either. They are bike racers . . . not poster-boys for self contentment!

So classlessness is acceptable? AS explained in the versus interview why he felt sad. But yet he managed to show humility and class. Others could learn from him. He is coming back for yellow next year. Start getting ready AC.

they were talking about assembling a team, that Armstrong was a master doing that.

Then they said that Contador was probably not intelligent enough to do that. That kind of commentary is what drives me nuts, the bunch of unbiased tosseurs.

and then they went on to talk about the greatness of the team (AST), which, in their minds, was actually a continuation of US postal and discovery...

Please turn off the volume. Versus will drive you b@t$h!t. Earlier on, I would wait and wait for them to discuss AC after opening each broadcast with a half hour lance love fest, but anytime them mentioned him there was always a disparaging jab or three. The broadcast made me dislike Lance far more than had they even made a slight effort to be less biased.

Perhaps it's a nail in Phil's coffin, and we'll get more of Matt Keenan, who I must say has done an awesome job at the Tour this year. I had hoped we would only get Matt rather than the switch for the criterium.
Cheers.

I don't know what else Phil does, but if this is his primary gig, then he ain't going anywhere until he wants to. No idea how old he is. As annoying as he is to me, Paul and Bob have been far far worse with the shameless lance loving. Phil at times was fair. When Lance wasn't involved the last 3 years, Bob has some stories that are hilarious. But with Lance there, it's like they are afraid he will cut off interview access if they don't grovel before him. Lance needs them too. They can't figure that out, apparently.

That's precisely how I saw it, too. I was surprised no one hit the barrier on the left. I think most of the guys behind Renshaw and Cav had to touch their brakes there for just a little.

Exactly. The Garmin "lead out" was a sloppy amateur joke. They are lucky that they didn't take the whole front down with the stupid line they took into the last corner. Hincapie just accelerated down the proper side of the Rivoli and so could make the turns through the Concorde in the way it should be. The Garmin amateurs went the wrong way all the way until the corner where they blocked everyone after Cav/Renshaw. That was buffoonery. Cav/Renshaw could have walked to 1-2 from then on. I would be pretty ****ed if my riders were blocked or worse because of the needless and hopeless "lead out" down the wrong side of the road.

Hey Dim, are you going to post a write-up of your Champs Elysee experience? You know, a sort of 'our man on the spot' kind of thing.;)
