Both liquigas boys showed weakness. Even Nibali lost 10 seconds but Kreuziger was worse. Also Linus Gerdeman that some have had hopes for lost time.

I think the winner will be decided by the TT and Ventoux...I can't see where Wiggins will lose alot of time except perhaps Ventoux. It depends how they ride on the Verbier but I suspect Astana will control that climb easily as well.

Not entirely, but at least he has some tangible evidence to rely on, not just hypothetical thoughts and estimations.

I'm pretty sure that Lance could have went with Contador... he's plaing the team-mate. If he would have went, he risked bringing the others with him.

Well, I do want to say congrats to Rinaldo Nocentini, this has to be the happiest day of his life. A bit of chance, and a lazy peloton, and he rode his way into yellow. Good for him.

Bravo also to the young Brice Feillu for his stage win.

Interview with Lance coming up. He won't say a thing other than he felt good.

(Disclaimer: I am a fan of Lance.)

I agree with this post. AC had to expend a hell of a lot more energy making up the 19 seconds that Lance had on him from merely being in the right place in the right time in stage 3. I think this tour is far from over.

No way. If LA could have gone, he would have. He will have to play teammate from now on. No one can stay with AC.

Agree on all of that. I don't know much about Feillu but he climbed well. Looks like the French stuck it to Armstrong ! :p

No doubt... what happened to the Lance-spanking that everyone was predicting a few days ago?

+1, so caught up in the Astana drama I neglected to act like a fan of cycling.

He's been tipped for a while now as the next great french climber.

I don't remember that. The climb was moderate and most informed people would know that the gaps--if any--would be small. I am surprised that Contador was able to get any time on this crappy climb.

Eh... that would have been bad tactics...

If Lance would have jumped on Alberto's wheel, that would have done 2 things:

1. The others would have saw the move and tried to go with him, and
2. REALLY ripped apart the Astana team. You don't counter-attack a team mate. Period.

Alberto took a chance and it paid off for him.
