All of this lancehate is amusing. I guess 7 wins didn't do it after all. So I'm sure this 8th win won't do it either, but it will happen. He's playing with everyone right now. He was in WAY better shape last year than he reveiled and it shows merely by the fact that he is 8 seconds out through the first week. He's already deep inside AC's head and will crush him in the last week. Lance has shown he's the team leader by being a team player and the boys on Astana will abandon AC, and America will laugh once again. he already know's it. It is neat to see the tour ride back into France and see all those white flags waving on the sides of the road.

Don't let the guys drinking the Lance haterade discourage you from posting your opinions.

For all the lovers/haters. Nobody gets "crushed" in cycling if you ever raced in anger you would of course know that, the winner of a race/stage/GC suffers as much as the last rider on GC, he just finishes the course faster. I've raced for 25years and have yet to met a race winner who said it was an easy race. Some of you guys need to go outdoors the odd time and ride a bike.

no worries there

Lance's record and his Worldwide efforts in the fight against Cancer speak for themselves. You can't fight jealousy, but you sure can laugh at it!

Plain and simple. Lance Armstrong is the greatest Cyclist in the history of the sport with the record to prove it. He dedicates his time, fame and many celebrity connections to do good. He needs no defending. It's like defending Tiger Woods. What's to defend?! You can only laugh at the critics. It's sad that there are people that hate the very people who do them and their favorite sport the most good, but it really says more about the haters than anything else. It's quite amusing.

I'm a pretty big Lance lance fan. However, I know enough about cycling to say he isn't the greatest cyclist in history. If he won a couple of Giro's and a couple of Vuelta's plus some of the spring classics. then I would say he is the greatest. Lance is the greatest Tour De France rider just by the number of wins he has. However, you can make good arguments for Merckx, hinault, Indurain, and anquetil.

very true

You could make that argument. The only problem you'd have is that none of those riders would agree with you. They think he's the best and that's good enough for me. The Tour is the biggest stage in the sport and Lance is the best there has ever been on the biggest stage. That's what seperates him. and when he does it for the 8th time at 37 years old after a 4 year break, it will be a moot point.

No Recht, it's actually about the whole thing I wrote, not the 2 sentences that must have touched a nerve with you. That's why I wrote the other sentences instead of just the 2 you don't like. But, for you, it can be about anything you would like - or don't like. That's the fun of an open forum.

Lance is not the great the cyclist in the history of the sport. Merckx is (if you have any idea who he is). Now here's a link so you can educate yourself before you come back to the forum. Shoo shoo now. You've got work to do. See you soon.

Methinks williej needs to turn off fox news, take a deep breath, and go ride his bike (if he has one). Off with you now.

Pleasseeee..
Hinault wouldn't favor LA at all-And LA himself has always acknowledged Merxx as the greatest--so your point is meaningless- just get informed before you post lies like that!!!

And maybe put his seat back on when he does so. It really will change his attitude quite a bit.

I'm not quiete sure if you understand my question.

It seems to me that for you the most important thing seems to be the vitory of Lance Armstrong (USA) over France.
So what I am asking is: is that so?

I have no idea why you would think that "the most important thing seems to be....." It's not. It's just 2 sentences in a paragraph - no more or less important than the rest of the post. I guessing from your post, that those 2 sentences are actually what it's about for YOU, not me, since those are the only one's you seem to be interested in.

I have to admit in reading some other posts, that there is nothing more fun than defending someone like Lance Armstrong. Like I said, you can't fight jealousy, but you sure as heck can laugh at it...and just watching all of the posts pop up when someone comes to the defense of the Boss is just hilarious.

Yeah you got that was interesting to me in your post was the part about USA vs. France.
Of course there were a lot more sentences in it. But the amount of words doesn't mirror the importance of a topic on a general sceme necessarily.
So now I am really wondering.
If that is not some kind of conclusion to your argument: what point are you making with it?

too silly

Keep wondering....when you're finished pondering "the real meaning", go ahead and read the rest of the post - just for fun. There are a few good points in there, but you've got to read it all, not just the parts that seem to bother you. Can't help you with it, but good luck with it.

Hmmm,
I truely belief you don't get what I am asking you.

Might just be out of cultural reasons I suppose...
Or well, I might also be way to stupid.
