hugh porter's driving me up the wall...

shut up about the track ffs!!!

Seriously! Argh...I can understand them chatting about it with Dave Brailsford, but they've already spent half an hour or so banging on and on and ON about it.

I get that it's a long day and there's not a lot happening, but have they even mentioned Cunego, Valverde, Sanchez...any of the favourites apart from Cancellara? (who, let's face it, isn't really a huge favourite).

Can we at least have some irrelevant waffle about actual road riders who are *gasp* in the race.

May I suggest switching to a feed from another country that isn't the UK or Australia? Guaranteed that you won't hear a word about track since....well, let's just say a very large percentage hardcore cycling fans in other countries don't even know a thing such as "track cycling" exists, much less care for it.

Dang it!!!!! Just lost my Eurosport feed. Now when i click on it it says:

'Windows Media Player cannot access the file, then blah blah'

Dang it, ill have to get one of the others now.....

Yup. Track cycling sucks. It is a relic and should be done away with. :p

Probably a good idea. I don't object to hearing about track per se, just not when I'm trying to watch a road race. The BBC always does a fantastic job of reminding me just how patriotic I am not.

How does any of that that have anything at all to do with what I said?

He asked where he could hear a feed without listening to the commentators blab along about track. I told him any feed that's not australian or british and why. How does that translate into an attack on track cycling?

dave bloody brailsford...

hes everywhere..

Lol.... perhaps I am lucky that I don't reside in the UK, as I haven't heard that much from him.
So I actually like to hear him interviewed - he is an excellent speaker and he offers a fresh and interesting perspective on the current state of the sport.

The Sky team have big yet realistic goals in place - so it will be interesting project to watch grow and develop over the next few years.

Pro Title

Yeah it's always fun when the live commentary on this site at least, rarely knows the time gaps and admits as much. It would be a nice change to see a non Italian or Spaniard win. Can't see Cancellara winning. Maybe Andy Schleck or Kirchen ?

I heard that too and almost pissed myself laughing. It happened on Sports Tonight. I think ONE HD who are the ones showing it live, have Liggett and Matt Keenan as commentators.

I rememer some years ago Mart Smeets (our pre-eminent sports reporter) made a compilation of stupid reporters over the years asking K.Armstrong questions like "How is your relationship with Lance been since the divorce?" 'Twas hilarious.

the dutch spectators have been working on an effective and deeply intelligent yell to cheer on the riders.

Last heard: 'Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny' alternated by an equally exciting 'Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole'

Can russia single handedly bring them back? Nobody has any incentive to chase, all the decently strong teams that can bring this back have people there

Australia, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Germany.

Only france don't have anyone there

EDIT: nope, france have riblon there. Is this the decisive move with over 100kms to go?

The Belgians and Italians are clearly trying to make the difference already, each have half their team up there already.

No Aussies or Norwegians up there as far as I could see. Switzerland and Netherlands are underrepresented.
