The moron on eurosport is commenting that most positives aren't because riders try to cheat. they're just innocents who think they can take stuff but get busted when the evil men at the WADA change the list of banned substances every ten seconds.

God he's a moron. He knows absolutely nothing about the sport, lies every time he's caught saying something stupid, instead of just admitting he's wrong, is a complete tool to every co-commentator and you could literally put any 12 year old youth rider there and he'd know a lot more about the sport.

The list of unbelievably stupid "I can't believe any person on earth is enough of a moron to actually say something like that" quotes that have come from his mouth over the years would make a very fine and quite long topic on this forum. I might dig it up and post it one of these days.

I'll cheer so much the day this man is fired.

Possibly....

Anyway, it is a real shame Frändy Schleck couldn't be here today.

He'd literally fly away from the competition :p

hardly blame them

Well, I can hardly blame them. Even if all their men combined forces and created a 'super-Belgian' Francis van de Boonen, it would still get beat by Ballan or Rogdriguez.
:) you know names like that exist here :)

aussies?

why the hell do they do all this work?

They're dead before things start...

just let valverde, gesink, cunego, gilbert get nervous would be a much better option IMO.

why would aussies chase if they have rogers in the chase group?

cos apparently he isnt..? sorry, not considered important enough to be on CN's live feed.. ;)

chase 1 @ 55sec
pelaton @ 1.39

looks like team GB and Australia may have got it half right... shame for the aussies they have had to do all the work... gotta say, GB doing a good job so far, doing absolutely nothing (except fall of their bikes)

Because the chance of Rogers beating Ballan are less than zero, maybe?

so the italians have succesfully worn out three of their own riders, and the australians..

and dave miller in trouble.. grrrr....... thats us done then.. charlie, or dan lloyd :/

again me ! :D

Not nearly the most prominent example.

Patriotism is perfectly fine. It only becomes annoying when it comes from people completely oblivious to their enormous bias who firmly believe the insane things they are posting :D

Not me. The Dutch are horrible, as we always are at the Worlds; we have no shot to win.

I'm personally pulling for Gilbert, but the Belgians are playing it tactically wrong as usual.

How so? Boonen is up front with three domestiques to help him pull back any attacks down to a bunch sprint

EDIT: And Gilbert can thus monitor the italians and spanish, preparing to follow any attacks without having to actually attack himself.

too true :D even more so with gesink's circumstances.

As many, i'd love to see a surprise winner... unlikely...

Thing with Gilbert is he's not afraid to attack, and explosively. I remember a Giro stage where he took a win this year (moderately uphill, explosive attack a few k's from finish). If he has the legs, could cause the Italians problems if he catches them napping.

Well that just goes to show. There is no way that Ballan and Boonen are going to the line together. Boonen should've been held back in the peleton like a loaded gun, while someone with an uphill punch, like Nuyens or Monfort, is up front.

Boonen offers an excuse not to have to work the peleton as well, while playing out Gilbert and his fantastic burst.
