"Thanks for the help, Wout. Here's a yellow jersey... for your kid!"

So Vingo in Belgium. We've got even bigger mountains to train here than in Denmark. GC guys in the Vuelta should be scared.
They are actually thinking about moving as in most definitely moving, just don't know where yet. Probably Monaco or Spain. Funny thing that didn't happen earlier as Jonas has quite the affinity for hot weather (at least not shitty weather) and climbs, and where he lives at the moment, he gets offered the completely opposite on a regular basis. Always wondered how the frick he trains in the off-season apart from Visma-camps, because training on these roads in november/december sure as hell is complete shite.

He trains in a lab.

He is training his shite endurance in winter times. Helps him a lot during the season to be able to endure more shite than the rest of the peloton. I mean he could just sign off Twitter, but you know.

Wout likely won't (try to) become a GT GC type of rider in regards to the Tour. So if he would join another (big) team. There would always be a GC rider involved and shaping the team dynamics. If that GC rider wouldn't have a big chance of winning the Tour in the first place. Then i see a potential of Wout being in a better position then at JV. That is when it comes to goals such as green jersey and stage wins. Last year was rather ideal as he won everything there was to win with JV at the Tour. This year he didn't win anything meaningful in regards to the statistics. So it will be interesting to see JV dynamics in the future. As Wout will want more then he got this year. Add Rogla, Jonas, Laporte ... Tough job to resolve if you ask me. Especially now when JV has two Tour titles already and this might not be the holy grail for some anymore. Achieving it.

hmm. There are a few things abou the arguments in the video:
On stage 2 where Vingegaard doesn't take a pull for Wout, they doesn't mention that Jumbo were the only team with the numbers to be able to almost deliver Wout to the sprint.

I know the guy in the video is qouting a third party, but suggesting Wout goes to Quick-Step is a bit weird when you also comment how nice it would be for Remco to have such a strong rider to help him out, ditching Jonas for Remco would be odd.
Wout leaving for anything else that absolute captaincy would be foolish. He can be one of the stand out performers at the Tour in his own right.

But if Remco were to leave... I could see Quick-Step spending their potential Remco money on Wout and maybe they go to TdF with a strong team build around Wout, maybe they replace some of their rouleurs with some better climbers in the Tour squad so Wout has a guy or two in the finals like on stage 2, maybe one of them is allowed to do a GC ride on the side. Quick-Step also have a really good cobbles team without a clear leader, at least not on par with Wout/MVdP/Pogi, which is a key reason they are struggling in the cobbled classics these years.

Of cause INEOS want's to win the Tour, so if he goes there they will make him New Kwiato, only they have no Froome, UAE has Pog, so now Wout isn't even captain in all the classics he wants. So those two would be the wrong choice for Wout. Who else can afford him?
Israel or Bahrain maybe, ASTANA? Bora?
depends on what owners and sponsors are willing to increase the budget by(or if they can bring in new sponsors with Wout).

Wout would be the stand out rider in all of those teams and they have some guys who can help out. Bora also have GC ambitions with Hindley, but not to the extent where Hindley needs Wout to do a lot of work, and if Hindley takes the pull Vingegaard didn't, then Wout would probabyl be happy to take one for Hindley.
at teams Israel and Bahrain he would be sole leader no trouble. they might have a rider going for top 10 in the Tour, but it would be all hands on deck for Wout on the stages where WVA thinks he can win.

Van Aert literally has better support on Jumbo than anywhere else he could go. He moves and he gets a worse classics team. Not to mention his performance probably goes down as well. And then boom, instead of being the ~6th best rider in the world you're no longer top 10.
Yep. People forget that Jumbo, right now, has the best trainers/coaches, nutritionists, and training camps in the pro tour. His watts and fitness would certainly take a dive if he went to a lesser team without that support.

Yup. There may be 5 or 6 teams that could actually afford Van Aert and possibly bulid a team around him. But there are none obvious options:

Bora - nowhere near having a squad being able to support Van Aert in the classics.
UAE - no reason to leave JV only for working as a domestique for Pog and Ayuso.
Trek - based on rumours on transfers they seem to have more money after entering the partnership with Lidl, and could therefore have been an option if they focused most of this on building a classics squad. But that doesn't seem to be the case.
QS - could have been an option, but do they have the money to build squads around both Van Aert in the classics and Remco in the GC? And without having to work for Remco in GTs?
Ineos - don't know what is happening with them. Could actually have been an option, but what is the future for this team?
at teams Israel and Bahrain he would be sole leader no trouble.
If Van Aert would leave JV for Isreal he should be declared as insane and put into an institution.

He should go to Alpecin. They have no GC rider.

dang, now he's only 6th best. Despite being among the 3 strongest riders in every single race he competed in / that mattered this year, and notwithstanding his subpar win-rate, still being ranked 5th on PCS over the last 12 months. The guy can't seem to catch a break from his CN forum rating officers!

I would like to see him at Soudal. But the funny thing is: Soudal is, at the moment, not worth a rider like WvA, while only some years ago, WvA would have been a perfect fit.
I reckon the main advantage of Jumbo was their approach, and all of the experience WvA got by training with the GC riders and doing long training camps together. It's there that he really built up his engine. But now he knows how to do this, he could walk away with that experience and perform the same in any other team, me thinks.

Any of Pogacar-Vingegaard-Roglic-Evenepoel-Van der Poel would have to be ranked worse than Van Aert for him to be better than 6th. Who do you choose, and why?

Van der Poel, for instance, is only 15th on the PCS ranking, but it would be difficult to argue that Van Aert is better than him this season.
