But you will produce some crazy peak power spikes...over and over and over and...
The kind of peak power spikes that would enable a 170 pound guy to answer all of Del Toro's accelerations in the gravel stage? Wout for all his cyclocross peak power is really best at the more steady state efforts (time trials, heavy mud cyclocross and long climbs within the context of being 170 pounds) in short he is an enigma.

They haven't communicated this, and I'm not sure he cares. Let's see if he sprints in the first stage.
Yeah let´s see.

In 2022 he won it with a big advantage.
In 2023 he didn´t care, because it was always planned, that he will not finish the race, because of the birth of his child.
In 2024, due to injury he didn´t start with a good form, so he also didn´t went for the jersey.

Good. I think the 'requirement' to race nationals actually diminishes the title. Or has this changed and it is no longer required that pros race unless they are sick?

I mean, if you need to have a sick note to get out of racing nationals, which are right before other big objectives, then the system is screwed up, not the rider.

Not the Wout Van Aert to win stages for the moment.
Thanks to his incredible recovery he'll be able to be usefull in 3rd week though.

He'll get into a break in the Loze stage. He'll climb the best out of all his breakaway companions (dropping Lenny Martinez, no less), he won't wait for Vingegaard who's getting dropped by Pog further down the climb and he'll solo to a famous stage win whilst Vingegaard loses a minute.

This is what I watch cycling for.

Today and stage 11 are his best chances, so he better get in the break.
I don't think today is a good day for him but stages 11, 15 and 20 look good to him (and he can build some shape until there). He is not in shape right now and the last km is too hard for him.

Can’t wait to see what Vingegaard’s wife says after that.

Not in shape? He finished 11th on stage 4 which was a drastic improvement from stage 2. Of course he's in shape, rather good shape actually, but the sickness just took the top of his shape. So of course he can win, the problem for Wout is, unless he's flat out a lot stronger the the rest, its very hard for him to win in the break on stages like this because of his name.
