Wout van Aert the structural top climber.
Anyway, how is his preparation going for another set of 2nd places at the World ITT and World RR?

Far be it from me to proclaim my own opinion to be official CN doctrine, but it's still probably more hype than the "is the new Zdenek Stybar" the thread had for years.
It,s four out of five if you include cross and the Olympics.Wout van Aert the structural top climber.

Right! Maybe if Stybar didn’t focus on cobbles he’d be top 20 climber in the whole peloton. It's obviously joint 55th with Stybar.
Any reason why Van Aert is riding Tour of Britan and not Benelux Tour? It fits better for his preparation for the Worlds?

Okay, that's understandable even if Benelux Tour is on home soil. I'll guess he will do this race in the coming years, hopefully with an even more interesting route. He's doing quite an intense training camp in Livigno. I just looked at the Tour of Britain startlist on PCS. JV are the only team with more than 1 or 2 riders named. They have Foss, Vingo, Martin and WvA on the list. They are all-in for the TTT here.He wanted the full 18 days of altitude training which collided with that start of Benelux.
And secondairy reason - there's a team TT that he apparently wanted to do.
There are more comments about him in the ToB thread, but yeh, he is expected to win.Tells you a lot about WVA expectations that he has won two stages and leads overall in the ToB and it is barely remarked upon in his thread.
Another nice finish, congrats Wout!
Lucky for him, neither was I.Yeah but MvdP wasn't there so meh
Van Aert has been superb in this Tour of Britain, let's hope that he can hold this shape all the way until Paris Roubaix.
What a beast, like shooting fish in a barrel. Go for Gold!
When will this odd thread title be changed?! It's frankly baffling to have the best current rider with a super weird reference to another CX rider in the title.
