I don't know if it was clever of Wout on the last climb when he dropped back so he didn't have to go to the limit or if he just couldn't go any faster. But the form should be good enough to have a good time trial.

I don't know if it was clever of Wout on the last climb when he dropped back so he didn't have to go to the limit or if he just couldn't go any faster. But the form should be good enough to have a good time trial.

Wout was gassed on the climb, couldn't go faster. Recovered on the descent and his sprint looked pretty good.

I don't find impressive to be honest. A good Wout would not have these results for sure.

For stage 21 2021 TdF WVA didn’t come from behind that stage though, he was dropped off at the front with 220-250 m to go while closing the barrier to Cav and Philipsen had to go the long way around Teunissen.

Because people were talking about him being sick recently as a reason why he might not be at 'his best'.

Let me restate as to avoid confusion: The best 2025 WvA is not going to come around Mads in a sprint like that.

It takes a great champion to beat him. Bravo Mads today. Wout beat great champions too, many times, he will do it again.

If WvA wants the points jersey, he can handle climbs and win precious points. I think that he can get that, a stage or two would be nice. I like the guy, he's a fighter.

The problem for Wout is Kooji being Visma's main sprinter and probably Wout will be a leadout sprinter in flat stages (give more points).

So true! Wout is a true fighter with tons of grit. One of his best qualities. I also hope he can get some wins.
