The Four Hills is already a complete farce. It's okay to jump in bad conditions as long as the precious Austrians don't have to jump in the same conditions as others.

You are totally right. What a disgrace:mad::mad:

Hey guys did anyone watch the sprint,German TV showed ski jumping qualification instead:mad:
Maybe someone saw the quaterfinal with Josef Wenz? I went to kindergarten with him, so i am interested:D
He was pretty good in the qualifications, but from the results it seems he totally cracked in the quaterfinal. Did anyone see what happened?

I missed the races today, but from the looks of it, Kowa beat Marit easily! She's starting to look like the winner now.

Ilia Chernousov fell in front of him so he lost some time and since it is sprint he never menaged to come back to the leaders.

This was the afternoon of pure domination.

In womens event Kowalchyk destroyed the field by putting best results in every part of the competition, from qualifying to the final. It looked like she was racing with kids, even Martin Bjoergen was humiliated. 3/3 for Justina and still counting.

In mens event Russians proved once again that classic sprint is their dicipline, after coming 1st and 2nd in the Olympics, here they were 1,2,3,4 something I never saw in a sprint before. Olympic champion Kriukov won in front of Petukhov who is leading sprint World Cup. But expect more from Alexei when they come to Toblach for the freestyle sprint. Morilov was 3rd, with Japarov 4th, which means he is now 3rd overall. Cologna just grabbed 5th after Northugs fall. Even though he was last in the final he is now the overall leader of the Tour de Ski, in front of Cologna. Axel Teichman, who started the day as leader fell to 8th, after falling to reach the QF.

When that happend he was in 4th position. But that was the hardest QF heat.

His 6th position in the qualification was really outstanding for him. He had never been that good in a classic sprint before. This really gives hope that he might be able to establish himself as a regular top 12 sprinter in both skating as well as classic.

You're obviously not an Austrian with all that envy.:D

The decision to re-start the entire first jump came after the German, Freitag, nearly came to grief. Remember also that Hilde had fallen and that the best jumper in the world fell out of the air at only 103m. In view of the conditions the re-start was the logical and correct decision. Nobody got shafted.

damnit, for a moment i thought the swedes were trying to pull a vancouver by launching jonsson at an early stage in men's 10 classic + 10 skate combined. expect a docile race for the bonuses plus an eeeexhiltrating sprint finish...

love to be wrong - hellner goes for it!

I'm assuming that this is the topic in which to enthuse about the Four Hills?:p

Another Austrian 1-2:cool:

I'd love to see Schlierenzauer win all four and collect that 1m SFR bonus. He's now halfway there with his home hill, the Bergisel, to come next. It was also thrilling to see the almost 40 year old Noriaki Kasai jumping in his 21st tournament. Deep respect! Too bad that the young German's nerves gave out on the second jump and he just missed the podium, but definitely one to keep an eye on.

I really don't understand why they stage the Tour de sKi events pretty much at the same Time then the ski jumping competitions all the time. Really that's pretty stupid.

cologna is a beast, leads overall now.

northug’s 12th a slight surprise... i though he will do better after i saw his split time. tomorrow’s sprints should lift him back up.

the biggest non-surprise was 5 russians in the top 10. they always excelled at short to medium classic races. legkov showed awesome form. i understand he's one of 2 guys who train separately from their national team.

Looked like all fastest guys were on waxless skis.

my prediction was that norway sends rönning to beast away and snatch the bonus seconds for the win. i expected legkov to be the second fastest if he has proper skis and he did. only he won. finally, as northug will probably try and base his overall win onto snatching all the bonuses from 20k classic, it was his job to play it relatively easy today - if cologna does not appear to be winning that is.

in the end cologna did not win, but also northug just could not hang onto his pace either. good.

still, i optimistically think that today showed a ***** in the armour, and think that northug can be put under pressure even in mass start races, if they go full gas from the beginning. to be sure this risks losing in the end, but trying one's luck in the sprint grants it.

There's no way he can do that. As I've mentioned earlier, the sprints on that stage have been moved from the flat to the top of the hills. Cologna is the biggest favorite now, in my opinion.

The gap to 4th in the women's event is already massive. In the men's event 23rd or 24th place is that far back after 5 races.

The overall quality of the women's field is unfortunately really poor. It's also a shame that their distances are so ridiculously short, which is a huge advantage for the likes of Bjørgen and Kowalczyk versus for example Johaug and Steira. And to make it worse, bonus seconds for a friggin time trial...that's just absurd.

cologna's tactic in the seminal was brilliant and the final..semibrilliant. did he really think he can outsprint northug and morilov ? should have moved up earlier imo.

When you're the best, you're just the best. Simple.

This was a very strange one though, with such dramatic differences in distance due to changing gates and conditions. The bottom line was that none of the challengers were able to put together two decent jumps, so let's let the locals enjoy seeing two Tiroler boys first and second.;)

No, cause that was a fraud if i ever saw one.
What a cheat against Ito and the polish guy. **** that **** that , i am so ****ed, worst day in the history of the Tour. In combination with the events in Oberstdorf this is just one huge travesty. The other nation should refuse to participate in Bischofshofen!

WTF are you talking about? Are you suggesting that the pauses due to wind conditions were somehow deliberate ploys to help the local lads? If you do you're stark raving mad. The Polish jumper went last, after Koffler and Schlierenzauer and could have won if he'd pulled out a big enough jump - but he couldn't. Ito was obviously blown out of the sky on purpose by a hidden Austrian wind machine.

I think your envy and hatred is seriously affecting your rational judgement.
