No I meant, before Hushovd dropped, I thought he was likely to win from the front group, which I would've considered unexciting.

gotta love Vanmarcke! im actually very happy w this select group. 3 great riders. looks like Boonen. he suffered but wasnt shaken

vanmarcke accelerated twice or three times and dropped a bunch of competitors. Only 2 left, incredible.

Whilst this is true, each of his attacks has lowered the opposition; he brought it down to 7, then 5, now 3. He's now got it to a fair mano-a-mano, whereas before he was outnumbered and the other leaders had someone to share duties. As long as he doesn't attack unsuccessfully repeatedly in the next few km, can't fault his race so far.

Vanmarcke could've done with another hill or some tough cobbles before the end.

All flat now with 700m of cobbles at Steenakker about 3/4km out.
