Maybe at first, but he looks toasted now.

yup.

takes only a minute solo with a strong head wind and a general feeling of "wtf happened in 10s; oh I just lost the race".

Sep Vanmarcke is one to watch,

It would be great (but damn hard) if he could pull this one.

Would be nice for his breakthrough win. But it looks pretty much impossible vs 2 guys with a domestique each.

Other than Boonen, is the next best sprinter Vanmarcke? I don't know anything about his sprint other than his placing in G-W (lost to Eisel, was it?)

edit: either way, my point is that everyone has to attack boonen.

For a second it looked like Thor and Matti were catching again, but now I don't think it will happen.

Rai3 repiots Cipollini saying Gilberts looks like he's still carrying a few more kg of fat that he should.

That's the standard Cipollini expertise coming in the early season, thoughts about fatness. Does he comment female cycling as well?

glad Thor is dropped- I hate his tactics - just waiting until the last meters to out sprint the competition..

If Flecha goes and Sep follows, they will break away (given that Tom is caught of guard). Great race.

If Mathew Hayman I will shoot myself, that would just ruin everything :D

Cipollini seems to make a living these days calling cyclists fat. He of course was always in shape, which resulted in his incredible finishing record at the Tour.

He is Pozzato with uber sprint. Maybe its not his fault, he is always in kind of team that allow him that kind of riding style.

Now his company sponsors a women's team, the casual misogyny has had to be replaced by something, and he's trying out a few things for this role. It seems he's settled on 'yo momma's so fat' jokes.

Hayman is pretty quick. Not sure how he compares with Vanmarcke though.

My thoughts exactly. The longer this stalemate continues, Boonen's chance of victory increases exponentially.

They you hate all sprinters in the world. If he hadn't have his sprint he would been more active, like Flecha who can't sprint.
