Dutch posters please translate what Vanmarcke says on sporza

He says he found it disappointing that nobody wanted to ride in de second group. He was really good, but the didn't know if he was as strong as GVa and Stannard in the finale.

That's the part i took notice of;)

Not a bad ride by Egoitz.

And now he'll disappear for the rest of the Spring, just like last year. :p

Stannard was the strongest? He got lucky by slipping away just as the group got together.

Vanmarcke was BY FAR the strongest, followed by Terpstra and EBH.
EBH had difficulty following the duo of Terpstra and Boom. He played it smart though in the final, unfortunately Stannard didn't get the memo and did something stupid: think he could win against GVA in a sprint.

agree, Sep was one of the strongest. but I wouldn't cal it luck. Stannard rode a GREAT race, he never slowed down, GVA was already tired and feared EBH coming back. and got a nice gap when he started his sprint. that's a magnificent win for Stannard and finally a nice one-day race win for Sky.

Thought Sky would never win a classic? Blowhards on this forum with more egg on their faces. Beautiful.

Only caught the last 50k, but surely Stannard did most of the work to get them clear in the last 15k?

Until the last 2k, when Stannard outsmarted him (never thought I'd type that sentence:)

Best Omloop Het Volk in years. Great race. Sad to see GVA lose again. How does he do it? But Stannard is a deserved winner. Also great to see EBH finally showing something on cobbles. Bit disappointed in Terpstra, I liked him a lot in the early years of his career, but since he joined QS he turned into a bit of a **** as it seems.

Yeah, definitely. They could really do with terrible weather in either Flanders or Roubaix. Suits Stannard, EBH and Thomas very well.

EBH can't handle bad weather well at all normally. That's why he was almost always sick/injured in the spring in the beginning of his career

Sky won't win any monuments this year. They should be happy if they can get on the podium in one of the monuments.

MSR - EBH is probably their best chance, but I can't see him standing a chance against Sagan, Degenkolb, Boonen, etc. in a sprint.

RVV - No sky rider can match Canc, Boonen or Sagan in flanders.

P-R - Probably their best chance. With a strong team and some luck someone like Stannard could get away in the finsh, but not that likely.

LBL - Henao? Great rider but winning LBL, no way.

Lombardy - Dawg, Henao or Porte? Winning? Nah.

Nope. Just ban the Race Radios.

IF they had had radios today then EBH would have won as Stannard would have been told to just sit on GVA's wheel for the last few km and the second group would have caught them allowing EBH to win the sprint. Thankfully that didn't happen.
