If all goes well for Contador this year we could probably see him riding and finishing La Vuelta. This got me thinking. If you take total overall position of one rider completing all three Grand Tours in one year, who has the lowest sum of overall positions?

Who cares, we look at the results on all three GT, we are not saying that the best on this list is best rider ever...

Question is which rider was able to races in three Grand Tours in one year on a highest level given the opportunity to do so.

EDIT: But also if you can think of someone like Dean up there, mention him too. It would be nice to have as complete list as we can.

These are the 2010 results, in 2008 Sastre "only" did the Tour (1st) and the Vuelta (3rd).

Not 3 GTs in a row in one year. I mean for example 2007 Vuelta 2008 Giro and 2009 Tour. This doesn`t count? because it is still less than a year,but in 2 seasons.
