Dr Maserati is so right. Jan Ullrich has inspired millions of people in their fight against obesity.

So let me have a crack at it:

All you Jan haters, hate excellence and have probably never ridden a bike.

Jan has never tested positive for PEDs - never!
The ecstasy that he took was during a time when he was injured and feeling down - something saddos like you would never understand because you are not champions like Jan.

I am not a Jan fan-boy but he has done more to highlight obesity than any of you losers have ever done. Bingo, lol.

The only reason Jan went to Dr. Fuentes was because of his weight issues - and he kept it secret so no-one would know because he was embarrassed.

We don't even know if Jan's blood was in Dr. Fuentes fridge - where was the chain of custody?! The Spanish hate Germans - probably some Spanish lab worker spiked Jan's sample.

Jan was Amateur World Champion at 19 in 1993 in Oslo, Norway - do you really think a guy who did that and finishes his first Tour in second would need to use PED's?? Lol...

Jeff D'Hont is a liar - it was only hearsay anyway - he just wrote a book to get money, loser. Franke is a politician just trying to get his sad bitter face on TV and hates that Jan is more popular than him. As for the German media - hello, the home of propaganda, pleeez...

So - if there was so much evidence against Jan then why is it the UCI have never started an investigation on it? O ya- because they're corrupt and sweep stuff under the carpet! Lol....

I love it. Its fun to twist the fanboy rhetoric.

You forgot about how the sport is nothing in Germany without Jan. Look at all the races that have stopped, the teams have vanished, T-Mobile, Gerolsteiner and nobody watches the Tour anymore.

He is also victimized because he is a ginger nut.

Ulle doesn't need to be payed - his only goal is to save the world and raise obesity awareness, that's reward enough for him.

Instead of 5 chicken you can have 2 geese.
Or 2 goats+2 chicken=1 cow
or 2 donkeys+1 goat+2 chicken=1 horse
or, if you pay an extra camel, you can get a wife in return.
Unfortunately, there's nothing you can get for the 1,000,000 Teng.

When he was getting weighed in at weight watchers, they asked him, in front of a few other close friends, if he had ever eaten junk after eleven at night, to which he replied, "pizzas, chocolate, burgers, and coke". Everyone looked at each other in shock." Of course, he later denied saying this, or that the conversation took place. There was a rumour on German TV that sweet wrappers were found in dumpsters during one Tour de France. T-Mobile chefs were seen buying the Mars bars. But the most shameful story to come out about Jan was during the 2004 Tour. His siogneur rushed into his room and found him with chocolate all over his face and hands. He said to the siogneur, that you now know enough to bring me down. His new bracelet for overweight people has become a mantra when feeling hungrry, "I am FULLrich."

Can you prove any of this, if you can the Jan Ullrich Corporation will sue you to death or bribe you into silence.

And as for that soigneur, he was just some obesity-loving looser that never won anything himself.

Hater - all you and your ilk do is attack, attack, attack.........

Where is your evidence?? .... see I thought so..

Jan isn't obese - he just has a heart the size of a DAF truck so it pushes out his stomach (his ass & his chin) and you're just jealous.

T-Mobile are the greatest ever cycling team - how many positives did the team have while Jan was there - ya, NONE!

Sinkerwitz only started taking PEDs when the evil Stapleton came in and replaced the mighty Ludwig! Those Americans don't know about German efficency....bingo.

Zabel - is the most tested ever cyclist and he never tested positive.

T-Mobile are the smartest team in the world - and that is why they went to Freiburg University so often while all the other skinny losers were off riding mountains to get familiar with them - have they not heard of Google Maps  losers....

I belive it was he year of Jan's famous World Gold for amateurs, that Lance got it by dropping Indurain off his wheel, in the real men's race. I believe Lance didn't even own a razor yet back then.
So, does that mean Lance was way ahead of Jan in terms of doping? Did the East German fail to give their greatest prospect the memo?
Talent couldn't have been a factor, as later in life just 20rpm was the different between winning, and being second best.

I think Jan had the talent, and the dope, but over-trained. Lance had all the talent, and could deal with the over-training as a kidster better. Then after cancer he got smart (seen his stupid laughter on old vids?), something broke, or mended in him. Anyway, if someone with the weird talent such as Lance, and being the only one in hte pro peloton to bother reading a training book (or hiring a coach to read it for him) still can't win a TdF without dope, then really, no-one can't. Don't mean to say he for sure didn't, but he didn't need it to rack up at least one or 2 TdF wins with that body, attitude, and coach staff.

Odd how cycling careers develop. I feel for Jan. Seems he always had the wrong people "caring" for him. Difference is that Lance seems to have cared for himself, in all the good and bad ways. Winner takes all.

at Maserati's posts, you are in fine form sir.

I think the 1997 Tour is proof of what was really going on.

Finally, a thread in The Clinic worth reading. I just read The Latest Astana Affair thread and I honestly believe I am a stupider man for having done so. Doc, thanks for the laughs.

IMO, Jan is a doper and he still rocks. Lance is a doper and he still sucks. You see, it's not just about the cheating. It doesn't hurt to be a decent, albeit flawed and occasionally rotund, human being.

does anyone believe this? Why would someone travel to Madrid 24 times, 5-6 times a year just for weight control? does anyone know, if anything like this actually happen in the real world? I mean with modern age, with phones and email.. seems like a waste of time and energy travelling so often just to get nutrition advice.

I heard Fuentes makes a mean dish of paella, much less fattening that Jan's usual diet of brats and black forest cakes.

Jan has never tested positive for PEDs - never! (In the court of law, Lance has never proven to have tested positive)
The ecstasy that he took was during a time when he was injured and feeling down - something saddos like you would never understand because you are not champions like Jan. (The Epogen Lance took was when he had cancer and was feeling depleted of blood)

I am not a Jan fan-boy but he has done more to highlight obesity than any of you losers have ever done. Bingo, lol. (I am not a Lance fanboy but he has done more to highlight CANCER than any of you losers have ever done)

The only reason Jan went to Dr. Fuentes was because of his weight issues - and he kept it secret so no-one would know because he was embarrassed. (The only reason Lance went to Dr Ferrari was because he was a team doctor of US Postal)

We don't even know if Jan's blood was in Dr. Fuentes fridge - where was the chain of custody?! The Spanish hate Germans - probably some Spanish lab worker spiked Jan's sample. (We don't even know if Lance's "EPO" was in his 1999 sample - where was the chain of custody?! The French hate Americans - probably some French lab worker spiked Lance's sample)

Jan was Amateur World Champion at 19 in 1993 in Oslo, Norway - do you really think a guy who did that and finishes his first Tour in second would need to use PED's?? Lol... (Lance was a freak triathlete as a kid, american and world pro champion at 21 in 1993 in Oslo, Norway - do you really think a guy who did that and finishes first in his comeback tour in 1999 would need to use PED's??)

Jeff D'Hont is a liar - it was only hearsay anyway - he just wrote a book to get money, loser. Franke is a politician just trying to get his sad bitter face on TV and hates that Jan is more popular than him. As for the German media - hello, the home of propaganda, pleeez... (Greg Lemond is a liar - it was only hearsay - he just wrote a book to get money, loser. As for the French media - hello, the second home of propaganda, pleeez...)

So - if there was so much evidence against Jan then why is it the UCI have never started an investigation on it? O ya- because they're corrupt and sweep stuff under the carpet! Lol.... (So - if there was so much evidence against Lance, then why is it the UCI have never proven him to be guilty and therefore serve a doping suspension? O ya - because they're corrupt and sweep stuff under the carpet when he pays them half a million! Lol.... )

I've added my thoughts in bold to your thoughts...

Interesting, that all the Ullrich arguments are so darn similar to the Armstrong arguments.

I like both Ullrich and Armstrong, and hope that Jan joins his old buddy Andreas at The Shack. After all, it's not about the bike!!!

I understand why you gentlemen dislike Jan and Lance. I am sure that you have good reason. Let us get out on our bikes and enjoy ourselves. Lets do something nice for our kids and girlfriends and wives.
Getting back to Ullrich, Hog ,53/11, bagowallet.
Lets see you eat like one. Lets see you turn a 45KPH hour doped or non. any substance. Lets see you bail out the US deficit.
Otherwise lets get real.
Jan (not YANNI) had issues.
I am personally against amphetamines, EPO ,Blood manipulations, and whatever else may have happened I do not approve.
Jan is my personal favored rider no matter what. He made big mistakes and I pretty much think he made enhancement failures.
However I enjoyed watching him during his career.
I would never teach my children to emulate Mr. Ullrich. I am not a "fanboy."
I have however raced bikes. I have been a participant although not a champion.
Jan was superior to Lance as an athlete and a cyclist.
However, Lance knew how to psychologicaly and intelligently dominate ULrich to win tour. Kudos to Lance he deserves the wins.
I think T Mobile/Telekom was awesome. Including Rolf Altag and Vino. Miss Zabel also.
In conclusion Jan elevated Lances' TdF performances through his participations and also through all his racing he improved the performance and entertainment value for us the fans. Good value for his sponsors.
I personally protect myself by not emulating but appreciating whom I follow.
In conclusion plese ride your bike/watch the sunrise and be gentle.

Hey, the old bratwürst sausage is back in the news though he's going a bit stale.
I liked watching Jan Ullrich grind up those mountains but you are making him out to be a champion. He's a doper.

Hey why waste time stating the obvious. Jan was a successful enhancer. Why tear up on German Cycling because of his habits. To me Jan was and is awesome athlete albeit not to smart. Who cares; get on your bike and tear it up.
