Stage 5

The two big climbs are very tough, but too early to be a game changer. Might be the break's opportunity to get away, or teams trying to shed the heavier sprinters. The final climb is 15km to go and is far too small to cause any problems.

So today will be a break or a sprint, unless Vino gets excited again.

Really there aren't any heavyweight sprinters here at all anyway. Freire and Gavazzi will be around at this finish.

Not many sprinters around. Ligthart, Galdós, Freire, maybe guys like Gavazzi or Martens if things get a bit silly.

i think rabobank will try to win with freire but they will fail miserably on that last climb when somebody and duarte will go and win the stage.

Don't forget Ligthart (he is probably faster than Gavazzi anyway.)

Yeh sorry, mistake on my behalf. Vino is ALWAYS excited.

I think hes joking that Duarte is the new Vino, so by "which Vino" hes saying that Duarte will get excited as well.

I think.

Wegmann might also try to get into the break. Difficult to say how he's feeling though, so far he finished at least 15 minutes down on every stage even though he showed form in GP Miggy

Wasn't Wegmann part of the LEoPaRd-TR€k taskforce that had to ride their eyeballs out for the Schleck brothers? Where Fränk completely blew himself up and Andy pretty much could only follow wheels and attack downhill?

No miracle Wegmann is minutes down then :p

Well yeah that's another reason why he could still be in good shape, despite finishing minutes down. Plus the fact of being so far down on GC means the peloton would approve of him in the break

I don't think Rabobank will allow any break today, and in the end see Vino or Duarte ride to the finish with a small advantage

It was good to see the other day that Paul Martens is in shape ahead of the Ardennes, speaking of Rabobank.
