Bloody hell Rabo needed that badly.

Sanchez once again helped Rabobank with a win when they desperately needed one.

Allthough he dissapoints at what we expect him to be good he still manages to provide succes.
Considering that the Rabo management main goal is the Japan Cup in late October it is not a bad result.

You mean the Taiwan Cup ;)

(even less significant race, but there they actually take part)

He is referring to the late peaking in october this season (hence japan cup).

Still convinced they are trying to peak in december this year

Good win for Lulu although a good fight from Jens, i thought it would be easier for Sanchez than it turned out to be.

Havent read the rest of the thread, but i think some of the timing is a bit dodgy. Doesnt seem to be the constant checks (from GPS on motorbikes?) that you often get. Noticed it was a bit off yesterday too. I know they slowed down towards the end today but i dont think they slowed that much? I get the impression that the timings are from a k or two earlier?

I know what he means. But the Taiwan Cup is even more of a joke :)

They slowed down. A lot. Against a peloton at full speed, you lose heaps of time then.

LL Sanchez is doing incredibly well considering how bad his shape is. As I said once the break went away, he's an absolute expert at winning from breakaways and raced it perfectly. Although I can't believe he was almost outsprinted by Jens Voigt...

Yeah, i know that but it seemed to be 58 seconds with 2k to go. Just thought the final gap of 14 seconds seemed a bit too much of a drop even accounting for the drop in speed but you never know. When i was watching it the gap seemed to come down in chunks rather than second by second as normally happens. Yesterday the gap was apparently 40 seconds and then the break got caught a minute or so later.

I was cheering for Voigt, since I think he is an awesome cyclist and seems like a throughout cool and well-humoured person, but unfortunately he could not get rid of LLS and he timed his sprint well enough to take the win.

But I was actually glad to see, they were able to keep the peloton away.

2 Cofidis climbers, Di Gregorio and Moncoutie, come in 18.18 down in the last small group. Think we might be seeing one of them in the break tomorrow.

Another win for Rabobank today!!

Uitslag Dwars door Drenthe 2012 (1.1)
1. Theo Bos (Nederland/Rabobank)
2. Barry Markus (Nederland/Vacansoleil-DCM) z.t.
3. Daniele Colli (Italië/Team Type 1)
4. Francesco Lasca (Spanje/Caja Rural)
5. Sebastian Lander (DenemarkenGlud & Marstrand)
6. Andre Schulze (Duitsland/Team NetApp)
7. Frederique Robert (België/Lotto-Belisol)
8. Remco te Brake (Nederland/Cycling Team De Rijke)
9. Filippo Fortin (Italië/Team Type 1)
10. Tom Van Asbroeck (België/Topsport Vlaanderen-Mercator)

Look at the big names Bos beat!!

Ofcourse a very very insignificant race, but it's Bos first race after surgery and a long time out so I guess this is good news for him.

No it isn't. He already rode one of the Mallorca races in early february and he rode the Clasica Almeria at the end of february

You're a bit out of the loop

LL sanchez saving rabobank. Good to see Jens up there, haven't seen him decimate his breakaway companions in a while, good to see that he still has the strength to do it.

Was. Anyway, LL Sanchez is a much better sprinter on paper. For example, he has been top 3 in flat bunch sprints in P-N.
