His form is very good compared to almost every rider in this race, but not remotely close to his god mode in the tour. Even before he blew today he was still no stronger than Mader. Not a surprise given his previous spring races but if he felt confident enough to attack today that’s the surprising part. I guess you could say the same about Pogacar on Granon, but that was at least a long proper mountain stage almost 2 weeks into the tour, while blowing up on a 14 minute single climb stage is more concerning.
