It was always a possibility that it would be OK by today, but perhaps better that changes of plan were made at a time when any operational or tactical changes could have been made rather than being faced with last minute changes had they been necessary. I guess it depends on how many days in advance the forecasters would have been confident that it would be passable by today.
The current conditions are as expected, the joker is in an hour. I also suspect that it may not have been straight forward to reroute around Saint-Martin to avoid that descent.

Visma-LAB should let Lampaert and Evenepoel go. Then chase when they have 15-20 second so they get a lot of wind.

This is attacking speed that Lampaert is going, will come back together at the foot but if someone makes a mistake or doesn't fancy it it's going to be bye bye Sunday football.

Amasing how for so many riders their power numbers are the same or better than other years but their performance is worse ?? Always a mystery to me
