Damn Bahrein already 40s behind at T1. There goes Buitrago's GC hopes. Maybe he can go for a stage win then.

Looking at the team for this race, not really surprising that they wouldnt finish high in the TTT.
McNulty, Almeida, Politt, Sivakov... quite a lot of big engines here. This is disappointing.

But their time trials in Algarve weren't great either, and they were flying on the climbs. Although now Almeida has to ride Vingegaard off his wheel, rather than the other way around... not gonna happen, probably.

Hopefully Julien Vermote stubs his toe or something tomorrow morning so Vingegaard will ask permission from the team to go for it.

Not the best TT-guys.

Politt and Sivakov are overrated Time triallists.

I have a beef with TTT rules of not being as they were tbh. Bc if so teams would make darn sure to send good TT riders. Like this it's just not a TTT but a mix of TTT and ITT imnshno

Team time trials aren't necessarily about the best time trialists though. It's about big engines, and they have plenty of them.

Sorry, but UAE should just have done better. But like I said, I think they seem to have focused on their climbing more over the winter.

UAE has a lot of classy riders so their TTT was terrible. Maybe they were told to abandon round wheels following Teddy's last year showdown.

Jorgenson
Vingegaard +06"
O'Connor +20"
Lipowitz +30"
Vlasov +30"
Skjelmose +35"
Sheffield +36"
Arensman +38"
Powless +39"
Gall +45"
Almeida +47"
McNulty +48"(?)

If nobody is able to drop Jorgenson then Vingo may actually abstain from attacking his teammate.

Terms of TT-abilities. No.

Good riders. Yes.

So comparing to other teams here. Not surprising they would lose time imo.

They are better that the 3 riders from EF you pointed out.
They should lose some time, they deffo should've been closer to Visma than they are.
