Ok, had a look at replays now. Quickstep pulls off, gets hit by lampre who goes down, who gets hit by a ????, tony matrin hits both and ends up on the deck, another rider brakes (garmin) so not hit tony martin, but get sprinted into by fofonov.?

I reckon thats it!

Filling in the blanks. Jimmy Casper goes over the top of Bole. Martin T gets hit by Garmin's Martin D.
Fofonov skids into the pair.
Some wishful thinking (no, not Dim) that Fofonov was Contador.

Caspers hit looked by far the worst.

What do you think the speed was at the time of the crash? 40mph?
Somehwere close to that figure. Maybe a little less.

Sagan never did a good tt in his youth period. I still think the prologue was somehow a miracle.

He is more a hilly rider with a good kick, at least he was. Prologue just happened to suit him. I dont see him as time trialler because of 1 good result, there's 235235235 bad results in tt's after that 1 good one.

Haussler 15th, Henderson 25th, Greipel 36th. Chicci was the only pre-race sprint favourite who was even in the mix, and the best he could wind up was 9th. I am really enjoying how crazy and unpredictable this race has been so far, I hope it continues like this.

@Greghenderson1 Nicer race today. Less stress and easy day. I
was keen to sprint until someone lay down for a rest at 500m to go infront of me.

assume Haussler et al had the same problem

Yeah, he went airborne for quite a ways. Looked to be not too badly hurt, but I'll be surprised if he starts tomorrow.

He did ride across the finish line @ about 3'' down, so probably not a collarbone, maybe look worse than it was?

Rumor has it stage 3 of P'Nice finishes with a gap jump over a pit of fire and there's time bonus award for best trick.

Regardless of where he finishes this is great workout for Contador. Battering winds and rough roads is all good come July.

Meanwhile in a land far far away Lance is hanging out at a sportive in Cape Town!

That was AC. He can be seen pedaling in with the main group (you can see him bobbing up and down trying to maintain speed). It was Fofonov--he wears the all blue get up (he's the Kazakh road champion).

So how different is Fofonov's gear to the others, because aren't they all in Kazakh colours?

Just saw Sagan's sprint again, went far out, passed LLS , and almost held Bonnet off. Nice!

Actually, two of the guys I picked for the game, Chicchi and Bozic, placed too high to have been affected by the crash. They must have been caught out by LLS going so early. You'd think it would have been easy pickings in the diminished field after the crash.
