Another sprint with few purer sprinters out of it ?

Just depends here who make it through the climb with the pack.

The ascent is on good wide road, whereas the descent is on a narrow road. Really smart way to take the loop

Probably Matthews and Breschel like something like this.

If they don't race the final climb too hard, maybe Viviani has a shot. I don't know how well he climbs tbh.

Maybe a break on the final climb; if a few strong riders go.

well, we wouldn't want too much excitement this early in the race.

Gallopin FTW.

Just to make it clear; The first 8 km of the loop is on good roads. Km 8-16 is on narrow road. The rest is good road again.

So they crest with 15 km to go, is that correct?

OPQS will make the race hard, they can give the jersey to chavanel and the stage to meersmann

I hope Meersman or Matthews wins. Will guys like Chava & Voeckler test their legs? Viviani is not going to be in the yellow jersey at the end of the stage,

Not unlikely that a team like OPQS or someone like Gilbert (in training mode) will put the hammer down on that hill. Let's hope, at least.

Gallopin could do well, especially if he makes it over the climb in a select group and they manage to stay away. Have a feeling a breakaway on that climb won't amount to much though and we'll see another sprint.
