Break of the day is 4:30 ahead over the first categorized climb of the day

Jerome Pineau (Quick Step), Amael Moinard (Cofidis), Mikel Nieve (Euskaltel), Marco Marcato (Vacansoleil), Jean-Marc Marino (Saur Sojasun), Albert Timmer (Skil Shimano) and Julien Loubet (AG2R)

Mornin' folks. Today's the big day and Saxo Bank is in control of the peloton and the gap to the break is 4:00.

Valverde wasn't just out of position, he was also out of gas.

Peraud said he wasn't impressed with Contador's move on Algarve-apparently he attacked with AC (I don't recall him being in the same frame as AC, maybe he's confusing DDLF's lead out with AC's attack). His manager expects that he will be with the best today at Mende.

Dirk Demol said that Levi and JB look very strong and confident. Sadly no mention of Macho Man.

And finally, AC said the legs are responding pretty well.

Wait...I forgot the best line from the newsflashes, Jens! suggested that ASO create a grey jersey for the best old rider. :D What is not to like about Jens!?

Now off to brew some coffee. :)

I think maybe a Chris Anker Sørensen could win this stage? It is time for saxo bank to actually win somthing this year! And maybe, with some luck, Jens can hold on to the yellow jersey :)

No way Sorenson attacks while Jens is in the jersey

Now watching the replay of the last 20km of yesterday's stage in anticipation.
Strong and confident? Sounds more like an ad for deodorant.
How about super fast going up a ramp?

I think the grey jersey was bandied about by various forum wags, last year.
At least Armstrong's is half done already.

-5C at the foot of the first climb. Contador wearing a wooly scarf over his face!

I wonder how well a Spaniard will cope with the cold compared to guys from Northern Europe. It doesn't seem to have been affecting him that much so far, though.

Schleck should attack. Saxo are dreaming if they think Voigt can keep yellow till Nice.

May as well launch Schleck and have a backup plan. If Schleck is still around a minute behind after today, then they have put all their eggs in Voigt's basket. Wrong move.
