It's funny. A couple of years back one of our public broadcasters showed a porno movie, the infamous Deep Throat. Said it was culturally significant.

What are the chances that PBS even allows a dirty word like b!tch over their airwaves? Not very likely. One of the few areas where the Netherlands gets something right.

Anyway. Great victory for Moinard. Cofidis deserved a little something, even if it couldn't be for Taarame.

Wow I need to live in Netherlands, not because of porn but the lack of censorship

Contador's a true champion. Warding off the 2 Caisse riders in addition to Rodriguez (former Caisse rider) was a great display of heart.

I'm just truly loving the performances of the Spaniards and the all Spanish podium.

Valverde should be a force in the Tour if he's allowed to ride.

I was rather disappointed in Kreuziger. I thought at least he could equal LL Sanchez on the final climb. LL Sanchez has improved his climbing it appears. I'm quite interested to see how he holds up this year in the Tour and Vuelta.

I've always said that Valverde is the best climber behind AC better than schleck because he can go with the initial acceleration of contador at the moment shleck can't do that, the problem with Valverde is that he is not consistent. If he's allowed to race he's a definite top 5

Not the greatest of the recent Paris-Nice editions, but still streets ahead of all the competition.
Good to see that the French can give it out, as well as take it.
Some great performances, some dire efforts.

Another Paris-Nice title under his belt.

Boy, that Contador cat sure has a lot to learn.:eek::eek:

I'm hoping these Spaniards (and some of the better Italian riders) all come into the Tour in top form. It will not only make the race more interesting, but hopefully break the media stranglehold that Sergeant Jive-A$$ and his merry band of septuagenarians will likely hold over the race.

Congratulations to Contador (and Alonso :p)

3 Spaniards on the podium!! They should form a pact in the tour ;)

One of them probably won't be racing in July.

I share your disappointment. Lulu said he didn't lift a lot of weights in the off season, so he's not as bulky=better climber.

That is indeed quite interesting. I'm sure they'll get together and discuss their sucesses over the phone tonight. Hopefully they'll discuss a few other things too....

I was surprised Caisse couldn't do a little more against AC at the end with 1-2 punch at their disposal. Not for lack of trying (today anyway) I think, just AC being too strong.

Le Mevel did finish, although over 8 minutes down. Hopefully this means his injuries werent too bad.

What a great race that was, the speed was fascinating! Congratulations to all riders who made it to the finish, especially Le Mevel, what a bad luck.

Well it's hard with RK, always the same in the mountains - "Contador attacks!" or "here goes Valverde, Rodrigues!" etc. and then "where the hell is Kreuziger??" :D But then you look at the GC in Nice (or elswhere) and "who knows how he does it" Kreuziger is just there with the best. For example this time he was the only one really competing with the Spaniards (and there was a lot of good rides there) from the start to the finish. Big mystery :)

And one more thing on this. Liquigas got here white jersey, green jersey, 2 stage wins, 4. place on GC etc. (simply great). Than on the Tour, there will be not that much stronger Astana or Caisse, but there will be a hell of a stronger Liquigas - add Basso, Pellizotti, Nibali, Szmyd (Bennati)... This is little bit scary!

I guess one of the complaints against RK is exactly this: hid did not attack or did not try even once, not just during last stage, but during the whole week.

Missed all the great racing, since I'm caught up in the DirecTV against Comcast thing. I need to find some European feeds off the internet for next weeks race.

You can't overlook Bottle's 3rd place at the Prologue. They beat AC twice!

Someone axed yeterday and i never saw a response. Where does the nickname 'bottle' come from? Is it because of his bulbous cranium?

Why isn't he called "kazoo" from the Flintstones?

Liquigas were clearly the team of the race here but strength on paper doesn't really translate to an overall win - I doubt all the riches Liquigas have will stop Contador simply because they have no one to match his acceleration and, however high they keep the tempo, they will only ever be giving AC an armchair ride.

Meanwhile, that 'weak' team Astana take the GC at P-N and a 1 & 3 at T-A. They clearly have their stronger team at the latter race, probably because AC can look after himself.

I agree. Actually he seems to attack (or try to attack) just few times a year, which is definitely not attractive to much :) I think one reason is, that he just doesn't have the acceleration (flat/mountains). Second thing is that the competition in GC is just incredible and to do some results is very very hard - so you have to be aware of your abilities and don't play silly games with guys stronger than you are. And third thing is - even if it looks boring sometimes, I'm sure it is little bit different from the saddle, watching Alberto accelerating in front of you on 10% climb :D
