This may be an American man thing.. Watching an equestrian event w volume down, see on the screen that the commentary is being done by Randy Moss..so I had to stop what I was doing, turn up the TV and listen.. Sad that I was not surprised by NBC Peacock choice.. Turned out not to be The Randy Moss..

US second string break the world record.

I know it's not the most valuable of world records given short history of the event, but if that's a sign of how fast the track is going to be, we could be seeing some insane times over the next week.

What's that sport where they jump, dance and run with a big ribbon on a stick? I could have easily won gold in that but nobody sells body suits in my size and I don't see those stick ribbons for sale, so how am I supposed to practice
You're thinking of rhythmic gymnastics, it's nice to watch if you like ballet and it's also very difficult. Aaand, you can probably find some ribbons, balls, and batons to practice with on Amazon? :p

After seeing the male swimmers getting ready for the butterfly, I am embarrassed to take my shirt off even to shower at my own house.
I think male swimmers, decathletes, and gymnasts are very difficult to compete with physique-wise because they have some muscle to them and they are usually very well proportioned. So, don't look in the mirror when you're watching these athletes. :D

Teddy Riner, one of the greatest athletes France have ever had, with a trophy cabinet as big as the Eiffel Tower including three gold Olympic medals, decides, despite his old age and decreasing motivation, to go for it one last time in his hometown Paris and wins another gold on ippon.

What a moment.

When I see pro bike riders shirtless I feel muscular.. And w clothes.. Female and male gymnastics participants have what looks to me like an obvious increase in speed and power from 12,8, 4 years ago.. People regardless of size are super powerful. Some female gymnasts look like can do squat reps with 400pounds

Same age as Roglic!

I looked him up, thinking he was some 40+ guy, and he's 35!

Some shotput coming up, are you watching it, RedheadDane?

Well, I saw a bit, was eating dinner. And here they are again.

Now, look at the shot-putters, and then consider that I'm the kind of person who makes Lenny Martinez look big and tall, and you'll probably realise why my own "sparkling" shot-putting career didn't last all that long... and bear in mind that I was even smaller 20 years ago.

Apparently the new track is quite fast.

So we've had a slow swimming pool and now a fast running track. I guess for balance we will just get a normal velodrome.
