Sun Yang swam those last laps so fast, he had to be well ahead to only just beat the WR there, thought he wasn't going to make it. Only the 2nd WR in the pool this games.

Great time from Seville, Lyles looking better but getting beaten twice is not probably great for his nerves

I lied, the level of group 3 is prolly stronger. At least the top-end level. Bednarak and Jacobs prolly dont make it at 9.92 and 9.93

Surprisingly bad level outside of the two fast men. Omanyala really, really disappointing. Jacobs and Kong-Fu Kenny made it.

Interesting to hear that Thompson is training a lot in Italy with his training group, he's in Lignano for months.
Usually the Jamaicans prefer to stay at home to prepare for the big events.

9.80s - 9.93s, fastest qualification times ever? Very tight field; three/four of them look above the rest but tension of a final and only a tenth or so in it means a surprise medal definitely on the cards.

Okay, Im all for Jacobs fluking a win again.

Realistically though, I think Thompson wins ahead of Oscar Sevilla and Noah "no disrespect, and dont get me wrong, I love the States, but its not the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP" Lyles
