You just don't want to get drawn against Uzbek boxers, those experienced and confident technicians, not quite but almost 1970s-1990s Cuba

There are too many track events honestly, sick of the Americans statpadding against candlestick makers and part-time strawberry pickers in these obscure 'hurdles' events. We need to get rid of some and bring back the Individual Pursuit and have 4 Road Races and time trials for different types of cyclist. Like Foliforov going for gold in the MTT event.
I mean, cool idea and all, but you left out a Gravel Bike TT, and we all know that would be the most prestigious...

Losing the 4th quarter by 17 points is not amazing. But usually the Serbs are always like that, especially in football where they have a lot of strong players but they can't produce anything.
They were playing the team with the most talent (not necessarily the most talented team), and anyone is going to take some hits against those guys.

When they make some big shots. Americans do it almost every play. Lebron is almost 40, Curry is 36, yet they act like bratty teenagers. And they’re getting calls in their favor all game.
We watched a different game...the ref was calling bulls*it against the US in the 4th, and almost nothing againt Serbia.

2 calls on Serbia in the first minute in the 4th, one of which was Jokić’s 4th (one away from fouling out). And those are just in that minute alone. I don’t have a problem if top NBA players come to the Olympics and blow the competition out by 20-30 points every game, what I find ridiculous is the bad officiating that goes their way in a game they are chasing.

What events does everyone here consider the most prestigious top 3-5 in the Olympics?
1. 100 m track
2. Marathon
3. 4 x 100 m relay swimming, always pumped up for this, and the atmosphere
4. Pole Vault, at least one of the two events have always had huge main attractions in the last three or four decades.
5. Basketball men, since Barcelona, the stars

Note that in road cycling such medals hold little to no value...

I don't know what the definitive list is, but I'd like to add these events to the pool:
800/1500m freestyle
200m breaststroke
Decathlon/Heptathlon
4000m team pursuit
Omnium

Parker Valby to win the 10k and Salif Mane to beat his 17,52 PB by half a metre to win gold in the Triple Jump. If you're going to overtake the cop car at 50 over the speed limit, you may as well flip them off while you do it, right?
