To be one of the strongest teams of the day (4 guys in a group of 14), then ride for completely the wrong rider, I'd call that a fail.

Will you stop bleating about Geraint Thomas, he wasn't here.

They didn't have a rider with a strong chance of winning, tried anyway, got 4th.

What a pack of tools they must feel.

Looking at their squad I disagree for pr

They have a strong team and Flecha is always up there. Now he came 4th, and that after attacking himself a couple of times. If Sky had went all in for Flecha, setting him up for an attack on the cobbles, he could have reached the podium

LOL! But he won the race! So funny....

He had trouble with his gears he wasn't getting dropped.

You really think Cancellara would have went the same speed as Ballan and Pozzato? I mean serious???
Cancellara was the strongest, from Milan San Remo till now. I'm not in the mood to keep discussing on obvious facts, if I know I'm right.

Yeah, I know you will answer boonen won in FACT 4 races........

As I said, I will not defend my opinion, just saying, that I wish you a nice sunday.

The sky criticism is amusing, Boonen would have won by ten minutes if they weren't there!

Also not true.

Pave always make selections, it's why a chase is so hard. Unless you literally have a team of top leVel riders(im talking 2 or 3 of the best 5 in the race) which thEy didn't.

If he looked behind 100m earlier he could have reached the podium.

If ballan or pozzato stuck with boonen, a 2nd was the best they could get too.

Ballan yes, pozza to is more of a wild card. I think he is better then Ballan in these races, and was IMO boonenis biggest threat, I think he really screwed up. Ballan would have been dropped on pave at some point for sure.

BMC should have had more domestiques in that chase group. A few like burghardt were caught out in the cross winds. BMC also lost Hincapie and Hushovd.

Great ride by Boonen, although OPQS continue being too silly.

Pretty impressed with Flecha, considering his previous injury. I thought he rode smarter than usual, too - although that might be because Boonen turned the race into a not so subtle affair.

Big loser has to be Pozzato. What was he thinking when he let Boonen and Terpstra go?

Seeing how the race went, it's hard to imagine a scenario where Boonen doesn't win this, considering the riders that were in the front behind him. The ones who could conceivably have challenged him crashed out, except for Ballan (and Flecha, I suppose).

Sky failed to realize Flecha was their best bet and tried to keep EBH up there instead of making him work while he could. Bad move.

Oh, and nice to see Boom still making progress.

Pozzato I think would have been dropped too or beaten in a sprint.

Who would have thought that Europcar would have a podium finish in a cobbled classic? I know that Voeckler finished in the top 10 last week at Flanders, but this is even more shocking.

Keeping in mind he had been attacking a few times earlier today as well. Impressive ride by Turgot.

Keyword being "was". He didn't start, so it doesn't matter if he could have been stronger or not. You can only win by starting. Maybe somewhere in Africa, Asia or Southern America there is a rider who would have destroyed Boonen today. But we will never find out, because they weren't at the start.
