Great result by Phinney in his first attempt. The young American has a very bright future ahead of him. :)

Boonen was a beast and a half. Absolute dominance, very impressive ride.

Just read that EBH had a puncture?

That can't be true. He must have failed because he is simply too bad for cobbled classics and should never ever try again as it is obvious that riders cannot develope in his age any more.
Bettini for example had a stem-cell cure before he got good, so in reality he was 21 when he started winning.

by all means continue rating the guy as a classics rider. I made another healthy sum of money laying him for todays podium

A small annoyance: during the last few kilometers and in the velodrome victory the commentators on Cycling TV kept talking about what a party Boonen was going to have to celebrate this season, and how "Boonen knows how to party." Yep--and it's not like all that partying didn't do him a ton of damage. Because exactly what Boonen should do to celebrate his double is go out to some clubs and start drinking and do up a few lines. One of the reasons Boonen is doing so well now is because he doesn't party like that anymore. Idiots.

Well you can party without taking a line, can't you?
And one party won't effect you. Especially if it is after the events.
You don't have to live like a tibetian monk 365 days a year to be an elite cyclist

vanmarcke was sick. haussler sucks ever since he left cervelo and van summerne is having a bad year as well although rode quite well today. sky on the other hand had a great flecha, hayman and stannard and the man they pulled for failed miserably... again... sky had 4 guys in the final and theu finished 4th

!!!!!!!!

Haussler left Cervelo? What grade of crack are you smoking?

Cervelo became Garmin-Cervelo! He didn't leave to go go anywhere. The teams merged!

No, it was definitely confusion or miscommunication or something. It wasn't even really an attack, although I'm sure Boonen and Terpstra were going pretty fast. But no way riders like Ballan and Pozzato should leave a gap on a flat, tarmaced non-technical road section like that.

At 0:11 Boonen: "Pussies! Let's go, Niki!"
And he's right.

It's amusing how many talk about this or that team FAIL yadda yadda. You're talking about one of the toughest races on the planet with the best riders in the specialty competing. You're talking about something that's incredibly hard and all kinds of s**t happens. Bad days, mechanicals, crashes on and on. Only one person wins and Boonen is at the top of the heap right now but I wouldn't call anyone else in this group a failure.

Armchair fans indeed.

You're talking out of your **** again. It's still the same team, he didn't leave a thing.

i don't agree with the uk postal fail thing
they were very strong but even when they were chasing full-gas,3 or 4 of them, tommeke was still keeping the time gap.he was too strong.keep in mind that if sky wouldn't have chased, tom could won with 4 minutes gap i think
at least they tried, that's it.the strongest won today and it was something for the history, epic stuff happened today,be happy we could witness something like this

Agreed. Sky were the only ones who had the strength to chase. The others just didn't have it in them to take any turn at all. In hindsight, Tom was so strong that they should have used their resources to target 2nd, not chase the win. That was their big mistake, but you can hardly blame them for having a go.

Nah, you can.

You can also call anyone who doesn't ride for the win all the time a coward.

Often about the same people, on the same day.
