Almost faster? So not faster.
According to yesterday's numbers at least, Belgium was doing better than France & Netherlands. Which doesn't mean much of course.
4000 cases in belgium for 11 millions people, France 18000 for 60 million, so compared Belgium is doing worse...

We count differently. And the increase pace is a lot slower.
Edit: We = Belgium.

The COVID is rapidly spreading in Belgium almost faster and bigger then in France so logically yes all races should be canceled... but where's logic when talking about governments and COVID-19...?
I'm in Belgium and the only positive thing I can see regarding Flanders going as planned is that there are much more new covid cases in the south.

You gotta admit it's a bit weird to talk about how it "could be race over", regarding a race that isn't even gonna happen.

YEP! :D
Of course, I was being self depreciating mate, hit post in this thread instead of the giro one during echelons cos I was looking over my shoulder hoping my boss doesn’t catch me watching cycling instead of working .:(

I figured it was something like that.

To be fair; their very first edition will just be the one next year, then. And (trying to find some positive here) it might actually be a good thing that they won't have to share the attention with both the Giro and the Vuelta.

No. Stop trying to find good things. There are none.

RIP P-R

Yesterday there was still some hope, but now it's over. The only upside is that we won't get a sore thumb from switching channels on October 25th...

It does feel like some CVD decisions are similar to TSA protocols in the U.S. — certain things seem arbitrarily restricted and others not. I would think the biggest threat that holding sports events poses for viral spread is people gathering indoors—whether at pubs or in homes—to watch, drink, and yell for 2-3 hrs. In which case, futbol would be a much bigger catalyst for transmission than cycling. But leagues, sports organizations, and govt officials won’t see that as their responsibility so they won’t give a thought to that issue.

Politics as usual.

Paris-Tours seems ok. So why don't they just race on those roads again on the 25th but dump a bunch of bigger rocks on the gravel sectors?

According to the weather reports it's going to rain the preceding 4 days but not the day it was scheduled. Pave would have been awful. What a shame.

It needs to be stated that all reasonable people saying, it didn't actually rain during the race, most cobbles looked dry and the extremely muddy passages probably would have been cleaned prior to the race, are not wanted here and go elsewhere.

This thread is purely for getting depressed.
