Cycling was less ridiculous in 1994.Remember when people were ridiculing @Red Rick for saying the Sky era was better overall?
MvdP solos with 120k togo. Vermeersch on the wheel of Pogi all the time.So who from Alpecin is going to win Liege?
And can they complete the sweep in Lombardia?
An amazing athlete, but there is nothing about this that makes for compelling viewing. Reclaiming some of my morning I guess.
I think it counts from when you lead the race uninterrupted.Depends on the definition of solo. I think Ballerini in 1998 also had a longer solo, but he had to overtake some guys from the early breakaway.
Hopefully it's pogi tired and Vingegaard undertrained so there's a close battle among the top 4 +/- the Ayuso level riders.Maybe the Tour this year could be good again with Pogi tired from the Giro and Vingegaard out.
There is now a large gap between MVDP and the rest. Kind of the Froome era in the classics now for him, but no era lasts that long. ~8 years usually and MVDP is well over halfway though that now.Honestly, I can't wait for the end of the alien era. Not sure I'll still be watching by that point, though...
Pretty sure PH was an inside job..."Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?"
I dunno, we still have 50+km to go,. Saying it's over is premature I think.
