Van Aert lost this race not on form, but on fear. He did not dare on the carrefour and he never got back to the front after that. Had there not been a gap to close he would have been there i think.

He has been gapped by the chase group twice after that.

You should listen to Patrick Broe talking about Van der Poel and how he rides the cobbles. Broe is sometimes a clown, but it’s not random that VdP “never” punctures.

Mvdp playing really a dangerous game here, riding as if he's invincible. Pogacars 2 minute recovery is insane, he'll be ready at every sector and I'm not trusting mvdps ability to close a gap once it's really there.
