The same as for every other race? It isn't free to provide.So... what's ASO's excuse for not providing full-race coverage?

I wish they didn't cover the flat TDF stages in full at all, it's a waste of air time.
How many editions of those races went without full coverage? You are acting as if it was the default, but it's not. Most things are rolled out gradually, if anything Roubaix Femmes has been done so rapidly.Of course... the men's race, every single TdF stage = no problem...
Women's P-R = now that's too expensive!

It was. By whatever means the race has been covered, it was always possible to do so from start to finish. There used to be a time when full-stage coverage just wasn't possible.

When tv coverage was possible in part, how was it not possible in full?I'm obviously talking tv coverage here. It's also possible to go to PCS and check their live updates.
And it is already now covered from the first pavé. That is a lot of coverage, and reason to be grateful rather than resentful.

Accuse me of speaking from a position of male priveilege if you want to, but I don't believe that there is any inherent disrespect towards the women in this: advertisers see lower viewership numbers, so they are less interested in buying airtime, so broadcasters are less financially confident about filling their schedule with it, so rights holders don't spent money on a product they are not sure they can sell.
Maybe that is an error on the part of the viewer research predictions, maybe it is in the confidence of broadcasters in the product, maybe it is in the viewers who don't recognise the interest in the women's races so don't watch as much as they do the men
But I am pretty sure that if they thought they would make more profit from broadcasting the early stages of this than from whatever they are showing instead, the broadcasters would create a demand that ASO would be happy to supply. Whether it is the beginning of Women's Paris Roubaix or the first few dozen km of men's Itzulia.
Is Eurosport actually responsible for the broadcast? I‘d assume a French broadcaster would be making the live pictures for Paris-Roubaix and Eurosport is only showing what they get from the host broadcaster.the thing is what are Eurosport showing right now, highlights of a snooker match played a year ago, highlights of motorbikes from a year ago, are there really high viewer numbers for that ? then weve got highlights of the Basque country tour, followed by highlights of last years Paris Roubaix Femme (I mean seriously they are showing highlights of last years race in preference to showing actual live coverage of this years race!?!?) then theyve got 5hrs of live coverage of motorbikes, and finally we get the live coverage we want to watch at 2pm, which will no doubt spend 20odd mins on build up and vox pop interviews again.
I cant see how in that schedule Eurosport are protecting their viewership numbers/and or ad revenue/ sponsors, if anything it drives eyeballs away from the eventual live coverage because people arent going to sit around watching repeats, theyll find another channel showing something else thats live to watch.

Even in Ronde she burnt her team-mates Wiebes and Reusser by riding too hard in the break of four, instead of using the numbers against Persico - Lucky she was stronger than Persico - Then in Strade she attacked from the peleton when Vollering was chasing Faulkner and was lucky that Ludwig couldn't quite get on her wheel and of course we know what happened at the finish.
It's a matter of price. ASO is not going to offer additional coverage for free or cheap.the thing is what are Eurosport showing right now, highlights of a snooker match played a year ago, highlights of motorbikes from a year ago, are there really high viewer numbers for that ? then weve got highlights of the Basque country tour, followed by highlights of last years Paris Roubaix Femme (I mean seriously they are showing highlights of last years race in preference to showing actual live coverage of this years race!?!?) then theyve got 5hrs of live coverage of motorbikes, and finally we get the live coverage we want to watch at 2pm, which will no doubt spend 20odd mins on build up and vox pop interviews again.

It's ASO that makes the images.
