Might this be what all flat races will be like without HTC and race radios? One can dream.

Race radios I don´t think would have changed this race - in this day and age I really don´t see race raio changing a lot of results and racing on flat stages

No sponsor on the sides, looks like - but then, what's the point of cutting off the stripes? Still not sure about the Specialized and Skoda logos on the sleeves.

The rules call for 8 mm of white (equal to one of the five stripes) between the rainbow bands and any sponsor logos.
These may just be there.

Interestingly, it doesn't say anywhere that the rainbow stripes have to be continuous. They are continuous in all the examples given in the UCI rules article, but it isn't stated explicitly anywhere. I guess they didn't think it necessary to state it, and to my knowledge no world champion jersey hasn't had continuous stripes until now.

3 years is quite some time.
i would say two years - since his 4 wins in a row in the same time of 2009 (Sabatini, Paris-Tours, Piemonte and Lombardia)

ABOUT BLOODY TIME! Good on ya GVA!!!!!!! BMC ftw!!!!!!!!:):):):)

Every race that I don't stay up and watch, BMC does well. Remember the stage into Gap this year at the tdf? Cadel owns. I guess the highlights will have to be suffiicient

Put it this way, I had stayed up every single night till 2am watching the tour and I was in desparate need of some sleep. I posted a comment about how I was contemplating having a power nap and then setting the alarm to watch the final 20 or so km's but I simply turned off my alarm once it went off because I was too tired to get up. Then in the morning I heard Liggett on the radio talking about how well Cadel did and I was very annoyed that I missed the stage.

Fair enough getting staying up at night watching the cycling is pretty tough, but when I lived in London for 2 years I found that I just didn't watch as much cycling as I had better things I could be doing. But living in Australia I find that by the end of a Grand Tour I really struggle to stay up.

Damn I was studying so hard yesterday I totally forgot about the race:(
I thought it was gonna be a bore fest cav win, but who would think GVA would win it and it would be such an exciting race.
Im so glad he finally got his big break but Im sad that I missed it.

Cav sets the precedent for not being able to finish any race next year other than a sprint. And this one was not that hard. Hard luck for McEwan and all the other sprinters ( thought McEwan was in great form ). It is nice to see a breakaway get away eventually, so hats off to them. Poor Marcarto has been attacking all year. But GVA handled him well and did not shirk in his pulls either. Nice to see him win too as no one other than Cadel has won for BMC this year and he can show more talent next year helping Gilbert.

There were a few other BMC wins not from Cadel. But not as big as this one.

he certainly needed to make sure he takes his chances ... as next year they might be pretty few and far between.

With Cadel, Thor and Phil all putting their hand up, GVA might not get too many opportunities.

Well done to him
