I prefer whole grain breads and brown rice but when it comes pasta no. rhubroma is correct Italian pasta is best I use De Cecco brand. I can remember my grandfather contracted diabetes in his 80's and the doctor recommended WW pasta for him. My mother bought some and served it to him. He took one bite and very vocally insisted that my father throw her out of the house and get a divorce.

+1 on De Cecco

Last year there was a cookery competition on UK TV involving professional chefs. In one of the episodes a competitor had to cook a signature dish from a 3 star Michelin restaurant, the recipe required the finest Italian pasta, which was De Cecco.

I find going from normal to wholewheat pasta is like going from tea with sugar to tea without any sugar, ie terrible at first, but you just get used to it and forget how much better the other is! Try and persevere ;)

I love the wholewheat Pasta, I actually prefer the taste to regular pasta. It all comes down to a good napolitana source anyway! Helps me spin bigger gears with souplesse!
