I think a lot of riders could've stayed with Vingegaard yesterday. Don't see a reason why the likes of Ayuso or Del Toro would get dropped there
Unfortunately, we'll never know. Seixas recently was slightly stronger than Del Toro and equal to Ayuso. The point is that he's right in there with the top climbers at the moment, unlike Remco sadly.

Yeah that's true, but season just started, and its a long way to go until Ardennes classics and TDF. Don't forget Seixas already went to altitude early this season, while Del Toro, Evenepoel, and Ayuso (?) didn't.

Impossible to say. Vingo won very convincingly but against weak competition. We will need more datapoints but I think he was good enough to make good climbers suffer at the very end (and likely beat them).

Seriously what good argument is there that he wouldnt have dropped anyone other than Pogacar.

It is up to everyone else they're up to his level. Its not proven by saying "oh his competition was so bad"

It's true. If Vingo is at a decent level then he beats anybody except Pogacar and it looked like he was decent yesterday.

Can a French team win a GT?

In 1990 Greg LeMond won the Tour for Z. In hindsight that was the end of an era.

Since then only one rider has won for a French team: Angel Casero won the 2001 Vuelta for Festina. They had a French license, although the main sponsor was a Spanish company of Swiss origin.

Caisse d'Épargne has won two GTs, with Pereiro and Valverde, but that was a Spanish team with a French sponsor - the forerunner of Movistar.

Now Decathlon has the ambition with Seixas. Will he stay with them and break the curse?

He has the full package, physically and mentally. IMO the main question is can he last 3 weeks ?
Considering what he has produced at the start of this season, I place him between Tadej and IDT(very close to IDT), and maybe not yet equal to Jonas but this is more difficult to say without direct confrontation.
He's the biggest curiosity of the moment. I don't know if I'd like him do the TDF this year, I'd just like to see him compete against the best anywhere.
