Alex Beaudin of EF lets slip some info that might explain two months at altitude -
https://www.cyclingweekly.com/racin...ver-the-winter-according-to-fellow-french-pro

With the trend of family members being "cut outs" in mind, has young Seixas a sporting relative?

edit add- Decathlon's staff page with a lot of doctors etc https://decathloncmacgmteam.com/en/le-staff/

One interesting name- Thomas KLIMASCHKA -http://www.cyclismas.com/biscuits/is-there-a-doctor-in-the-house/

Fuentes and a list of other "dodgy doctors" who might still be offering their services, was in an article from September last year - https://archive.is/20250918070741/h...dicos-dopaje-nunca-van-20250917194433-nt.html

I still haven't had coffee, so maybe I am missing something, but how does gaining 20watts per month explain two months at altitude?

And interesting, to say the least, with Klimaschka. It's crazy who's allowed to be influential on the sport and riders still.

My guess is that under those two months they were boosting his recovery and base levels. Nowadays stage 20 of a tour is just as fast and crazy as stage 1. I wonder who else was with him during those two months.

So both of Seixas parents were into karate and did quite well on a national level. His younger brother Nino is a club racer too.

Poggie took the first massive leap already in 18/19 after starting to work with Gianett&UAE, at the same age as Seixas is now. You need to start building the narrative early, so you make the "generational" talent thing beliavable. Pauls leap is as outrageous as has poggies been, but at least he was considered a big talent before this season too. Not like the reasonably talented stage racer, who does it all with ease and record breaking power these days.

Would really want to know what are they on, maybe the gene doping is the best explanation. Well don't fully trust the petrostate owned Colnago either, which they bought very conviniently at the same time of pogs magical rise. Maybe Decathlon has learned to play the game also.

You cant compare talent and results of youngster as easily as you think.

Before 18/19 Pogi was on a semi-continental Slovenian team, and was famous for not being the most careful athlete in terms of lifestyle.

Seixas was already training like an elite at 15, tracking everything, and he grew up in the same region as his current team is located so likely he was on their radar very early on.

As easily as i think? So you know what i think now. Have to admit you are right though, that pog only was a semi-talent in a semi-continental team before hooking up with mauro and the fraudsters. I think it is just better to give up with the fight. It is like arguing with flat earthers, they will believe what they want no matter what you say or science proves.

And yes Seixas is very suspect too, but havent seen him win everything all year round on every tarmac yet. Oh and he still is/was a bigger talent than pog the semitalent super responder. To be honest after seeing the level UAE etc. are allowed to take a piss on us, let it just be full mayhem and enchanched games then. If UCI and the modern day socialmedia fanboyism loves it, why not go full mental then.

Nothing pog has done since 2018/19 is even on the same page of being real, so let others join the party too.

Today's headscratcher for all the aficionados, two grandfathers but who were the kids?
"I remember whole afternoons with my grandfather watching the Tour, Giro and Vuelta,"
"...grew up watching cycling and remembers tuning into the Tour de France with his grandfather."

The more I read about Seixas, the more I get the feeling he's a talented kid who's been turned into a manufactured product. If he does move away from Decathlon, I say watch who goes with him.

If we go back to the ancient history of 2024, Frank Bonnamour got busted for "unexplained abnormalities in his Biological Passport" whilst at Decathlon (but before CMA CGI came on board). (UCI's statement at https://www.uci.org/pressrelease/uci-statement-on-franck-bonnamour/5F1MpTZl7GnW90zY9MK9v9 )

Are we not looking at old fashioned blood doping here? We don't know of course if this was Bonnamour's own "extra curricular" activity or team sanctioned shenanigans, but as a member of MPCC it does no look good.

iirc correctly he was busted in 2024 (while at Decathlon) but the doping offence dates back at his B&B Hotels years

The decisive factor was irregularities in the biological passport from 2022, as the UCI announced.

So this one we can put down to someone desperately looking for a new contract (in 2023 he went to AG2R Citroën - which became Decathlon in 2024), but the ITA/UCI waited until February 2024 to suspend him. Which makes him seem incredibly stupid if he only doped in 2022. It would stick out like a sore thumb on his ABP.

Just like Commander Data, it seems Paul didn't have parents, just a creator (whom he calls grandfather). This is the next level, even Teddy will be in troubles soon.

He was never caught for doping. Test results from ITA showed abnormalities and they didn't identify and name any synthetic substance. Just another example of something alleged to have happened in 2022, and some meandering meaningless methodology that has offender defending themselves years later. Maybe the UCI and it's incompetent contractor, ITA can market some pregnancy tests were the results are delivered as you are changing a dirty diaper on an 18 month old or 2_year old baby.. No other sport could tell the public that it took a couple of years for test results. These people are equal parts travesty, incompetent and a joke.
UCI needs tests that work ( like everyone else) UCI needs fast turn around times, can't have tests that are so unreliable that someone has 7 yellow jerseys and they tell you that they were using drugs instead of you catching them. The clowns at the UCI shouldn't be taken seriously.

No,it was just amusing that we get almost the same quote from 2 different people, Seixas and .... Andres Ineista. Maybe they have both the same PR company.
Be interesting to see if Decathlon have brought in some "consultants" since the Saade family joined in the sponsorship.

Oh, I didn't realize those came from different people. My bad

I don't think what they describe is an uncommon experience in traditional cycling countries though

How long will the Messiah's altitude camp last? He gains 20 watts per month so there's enough time left to win the Tour this year already.
