Sagan "must" have a different schedule- that's what's killing him. If he finds a team whose management depicts carefully the races he should aim, in combination with the proper training & time off, then he'll be fine.

Changing team probably means that we will not have to do the "american" preparation for his third peak. Which should be Ponferada of course.

I have heard some rumours about Vuelta. Anybody has some info?

In slovak media it's written that he's going to race san sebastian this sunday and then vuelta. So we'll see, last time he rode vuelta, the points jersey just slipped close under his fingers. I don't know if Degenkolb will ride it, but it could be nice battle between them, as I guess Kittel won't be riding it.

(in Slovak)

My translation: He will start in San Sebastian and on Vuelta.
Sagan said: "I consider Vuelta foremost as a preparation for World Championships. I believe that after WC I'll have some time for holiday and relaxing."

Nice.

I saw he posted a picture of himself yesterday in Monaco, which I found a bit strange. I thought he'd have a bit of a break or go back to Slovakia at least, but evidently he does plan to race.

So it's official Sagan signs 3-year contract with Tinkoff-Saxo.

Seems like a weird choice for him. Maybe he wants to wear one of those cool bottle vests.

I think this is a terrible choice for him if he wants to win Classics. He will have Matti Breschel and Chris Anker as domestiques. i.e., he will again be alone in the finale of the big races, and everyone will gang up on him as usual. Nothing will change.

Dont think so. Rogers is about as good as it gets as a domestique, on the flat as well. He will always have 2-3 teammates with him that can cover the attacks.

Nah, AC will be gone by the end of next year. Tinkoff will build a team around Sagan for the next three years.

Only if they're planning to make the Tour contender of Sagan.

One thing will change, unless Sagan is totally lost behind the cart........
Tactics both individual and team wise.... Big wins will come.... Wait and see...

No need for that. They already have Majka to take over once Berti si gone.
That's O.K., but the team built around Sagan won't be overly helpful.

Riis will make a man out of him.

What other team do you think he should've gone to? Before this happenned, Tinkoff always seemed to me like the most logical choices. Other teams either have riders with big conflicting interest with Sagan (strong classic rider or big name sprinter) or don't think Sagan fit the budget plan.
And Breschel, Trussov & co. are I think less hopeless than his old Cannondale helpers.

Yes.
Sagan wanted to go to T-S because of Riis.
He knows what Riis made with Cancellara.

And according to Feltrin the will sign a new classic rider to help Sagan.

I agree that it is better than Cannondale. What Sagan needs is a teammate who can make the final group and close down a few attacks - not even all attacks, just a few. The OPQS guys usually have two in any final group and it works well for them. Sagan should have demanded that TS sign another strong classics rider along with him. Boom was free at the time. Vandenburg is perfect for this role.

It's likely they will sign one more classics rider, EBH is rumored. Wouldn't be as good as one of the same level as Boom, but not too bad. Should do for a good domestique for him.

Riding domestique for Sagan for a season or two could be good for EBH in the long run as well IMO.

No. Maybe coaching changes and a change a focus.

Being a domestique also in the classics adds exactly nothing.

Does anyone know when Sagan starts racing with Tinkov? Will it not be till the start of the new season?
