Well, if you prefer him to race always the same races, winnig few RVV it is OK. What is the point to be the best rider in the word, if you do not go for other chananges. You are probably right he could mess up but I rather to see him try it and mess up then not to try at all. ONLY winning of all momuments and at least few "real" one week races can bring him the titul "best rider of the word".burning said:SKSemtex said:Lets hope he win MSR and PR very soon. I would pray to every single god in this world to ensure that won't happen. I mean, he is already the best rider in the world and there is no need to mess that up.
I agree with you 100%.El Pistolero said:MacBAir said:What a great win for Greg.
What pisses me off is that Sagan was so, so strong. In fact, he seemed stronger than Greg on any single aspect of road racing. So frustrating.
Sagan hasn't been climbing better than GVA this season. Just look at him this season, he's super buff, Greg is skinnier and thus able to climb better.
But yeah, he probably feels a bit stupid right about now.
For what? Why the *** would he lose everything that makes him so special?SKSemtex said:Lets hope he win MSR and PR very soon. One think is sure the guy likes challanges and I am sure when his present mission is done, we will see him going down with weight and do some serious climbing.
Sagan rarely goes all out on climbs. I don't know what to expect of him on yesterday's route, but he would be able to bridge some gaps on the descent for sure.PremierAndrew said:Would Sagan be able to drop De Gendt uphill like GVA did in the Tour?
Highly doubt Sagan would have been in contention today (but then that's coming from someone who completely wrote off GVA too, so what do I know)
Yes , and this was the last time we saw him to go all out and climb with the best.Netserk said:Sagan rarely goes all out on climbs. Someone else compared him to Canc, but do anyone see Canc do this? (and where do you see Greg in that stage?)

I could see him losing a few pounds and compete for LBL and GdL.MacBAir said:For what? it's impossible for him to do the vuelta because his MTB race is on 21 and vuelta starts 20 august. i saw on PCS his next races will be montreal and quebec so probably that's what he will do before worldsMacBAir said:Does anyone here have any idea of what his post-olympics season will look like? He's certainly a factor for the worlds, so he needs to be great there. Will he go to Canada or do the Vuelta, or any other race?
I hope he doesn't do the Vuelta, so he doesn't have to abandon it to be good for the worlds or even (dreaming) Lombardia.
That's the last thing he should do if he wants to win the Tour. Less lean weight = less power.SKSemtex said:Lets hope he win MSR and PR very soon. You are the man. I agree that Sagan shouldn't lose what makes him "the guy"CheckMyPecs said:That's the last thing he should do if he wants to win the Tour. That's great! It will be my first year watching those races as well. I remember watching Phil Gil toying with Gesink (?) on a final, once.carolina said:tinkov said in his last cyclingnews blog that sagan would go to canada.
That's great, but... Does it mean that he will try to "hold" is form until october? I saw on Facebook that he rested a bit... That means that if he has a great result on his MTB he might be cooked in October. Unless he is GVA or Valverde.saganboss said:it's impossible for him to do the vuelta because his MTB race is on 21 and vuelta starts 20 august. i saw on PCS his next races will be montreal and quebec so probably that's what he will do before worldsMacBAir said:Does anyone here have any idea of what his post-olympics season will look like? By that I mean, was it a high level thing or moe of a gimmick?
I think this might be little bit overrated. 47 seconds loss on Alaphillippe, who is not amogst great climbers.Netserk said:Sagan rarely goes all out on climbs.
