Garbage. Cav chose the worst possible line against a sprinter he couldn't bully out of the way. DQ is ridiculous.

Hater much?
Sagan trucked Cav. Sagan also caused the first crash by racing recklessly.
Cav have raced dangerously in the past and should have been penalized before but two wrongs does not make a right.

Not a hater. Just pointing out that Cav placed himself there and that he does have a history of enforcing his will in sprints. I'm not justifying the crash by his history, though, just pointing out that in this case it was Cav's fault because he took a line that wasn't there. Elbow came out while he was already going down.

And I do like Cav. This "hater" nonsense has gotten out of hand. Are you a Sagan hater because of your post? smh

I don't hate Sagan at all - love the guy. But he was clearly in the wrong - he was following a wheel but you can't just follow and wipe out a competitor into the wall... the fact that Cav touched him first is immaterial, he had to as Sagan squeezed him. The elbow was the piece de resistance that lead to the DQ - I don't know where people get the "he was just bracing" BS from, it was an aggressive elbow delivered to Cav's head.

Justified DQ. Sad to lose a great competitor from the Tour.

But you are wrong, the line was there. Cav had the wheel of Demare.

Rightly or wrongly I wonder if this will change Sagan's attitude a bit. For instance he was actually answering an interview like a normal person at the end giving out full sentences rather than his usual two word answers.

Must be the first time I've seen him giving full responses like this in at least 2 years ...

About TdF '17 stage 4 Sagan DQ decision by ASO: This is one of the most bizarre and grotesque decisions I've ever witnessed during my almost 40 yrs as a cycling fan.

This crash was nothing but accidental, business as usual, so to say, speaking a sprint among top sprinters in Tour de France. If anybody should even mention 'guilt' it should solely rely on Cavendish. Cavendish took the route of heroes between Sagan and the barrier, Cav's handlebars came too close to Sagans saddle/frame and Cav crashed in the barriers. Sagans sway with right elbow came afterwards and is completely irrelevant.

I like both Cavendish and Sagan as sprinters, there should be no punishment.

What first crash?

First crash: https://u.nya.is/jdkpym.mp4

Say what you want about the 2nd crash but the first isn't Sagan's fault at all imo. That's people stretching too far.

Then who is at fault?
Sagan touches two riders and both goes down and causes the crash. He went for a too small gap and took down two riders.

You not seeing the FDJ rider who gets bashed into him?

You are actually right, I did not see that the FDJ rider was forced into him.

It was dangerous imo and he deserved some kind of punishment. I am obviously biased but I think relegated from second place and lost 30 points because of it should be enough. This DQ crap is way overreaction imo. He should go to Vuelta and try to win green there instead and some stages. Is Gaviria starting there? Would be a great battle. Seriously after this Peter should skip the Tour next year and try Giro instead. I know it is difficult to find a form after spring classics.

Anyway I dont like his behaviour this season. He seems really be distracted. Elbowing Vannamote, Greipel yesterday, Cav today. His falls at E3, Ronde. His schooling of Terpstra. He should seriously calm down.
