He is tough as guts though. He had quite a few stitches in his leg and he refused to abandon the race.

I know nothing of him other than what I've seen in Paris-Nice, but to me he looks a bit big for a GT rider of the future, particularly when he's filled out. As it's a bit unlikely to think he may be another Indurain or Ullrich, if I had to I'd throw my hat in the "classics a la Boonen or Cancellara" ring.

Is that all he is? Blimey. Was he riding a sportive bike or something yesterday then? Ted King should see to his saddle-bar drop, it's not exactly Pro :p

It certainly was, but again I think some realism is needed here, Willunga Hill is no Muur de Huy.

I was making the point that it was awesome that he was with Valv ,LLS and acdel on wilunga! Still a hard climb wilunga!

No shame we don't know what he is/will be capable of - he doesn't know it either :) But for sure he will be a great rider and will win hell of a lot of things. 100%

Liquigas - to say they will slow him is a nonsense (my opinion). Liquigas is a great team, they definitely know how to take care of a young talent. Another thing is, if they capable of supporting one rider for big GC win, but this is not the thing Sagan will be concerned about in the near future. And to be in a team with stars as Basso, Pellizotti, Nibali, Bennati, Chicci + Kreuziger, Szmyd, Paterski, Bodnar, Kuschynski - all guys from eastern/central europe and that's good for him being Slovak.

Jealous Kreuziger - he is an ambitious, professional cyclist that's all. When he is promised to be a co leader with Nibali on the Tour, he want's to be a co leader with Nibali on the Tour. When the agreement with team is that he will be working for Basso on Vuelta, he is working his socks of for Basso on Vuelta. That's not jealousy, that's how it works in pro cycling.

dont know how appropriate it would be to emphasize that hes from eastern europe (and im not criticizing) but it seems there' is/was indeed a special characteristic to 'them' - mental toughness/ readyness to suffer. sagan being born after the walls collapsed, may have inherited the best of both worlds -
mental toughness of his cultural lineage and exposure to great western/central european cycling traditions.

at this point he seems to have potential in the classics, and for sure has strong itt skills. Will be an interesting rider to follow.
One thing is for sure, he has made a lot of fans this week.

You don't know that. Many riders promised a lot when they were young and turned out to do nothing spectacular. He could be great or he could be a huge disappointment. He's too young to know what he'll do.

I am from Slovakia, even from the hometown (Zilina) of Peter Sagan and I´ve been following his career quite a lot. He´s always been touted as a future miracle here in our country, but Sagan himself prefered mountain bikes over road cycling for a long time. Of course, what he has achieved so far this season (6 Top5 finishes in stages in very tough races like TDU and PN) as a complete rookie is unbelieveable and really fantastic for Slovakia. I am very proud of him...
He is still very young so I am cautious about his future. He may well develop into GT contender one day but for now he´s too young as Sagan himself correctly admitted to compete in long climbs and 3-week race like Giro, TdF or Vuelta. I hope Liquigas gives him the time he needs but so far he´s well proved he is able to win stages under tough circumstances. If he gets his chance he may do well in some of the prestigious spring classics but probably we won´t see him there as his next schedule is Tour of Turkey and then Tour of California. Right now I am not sure that´s the best schedule for him but we´ll see.
Also this season it is very unlikely that he will attend any Grand Tour.

If he rides like this he will have a really good shot at winning the Tour of California.

That's a good point. He certainly seems to have the power, though, and (although I will be the first to admit I know nothing about MTB) I think I am correct in saying that it mainly consists of riding solo against the clock?

For the record, I reckon he will be a brilliant chrono rider. Like Boasson. Look at his prologue. Kreuziger jumped onto the scene with a brialliant prologue as a 20 or 21 yo in 2007 Paris Nice too. Second to Millar.

20 and ten months to be exact. Sagan was 20 and 2 months.

1 David Millar (GBr) Saunier Duval-Prodir 6.01 (46.869 km/h)
2 Roman Kreuziger (Cze) Liquigas 0.01
3 Sébastien Joly (Fra) Française Des Jeux 0.02
4 Luis León Sánchez (Spa) Caisse d'Epargne
5 Alberto Contador (Spa) Discovery Channel
6 Levi Leipheimer (USA) Discovery Channel 0.03
7 Francisco José Ventoso (Spa) Saunier Duval-Prodir 0.04
8 Remmert Wielinga (Ned) Saunier Duval-Prodir
9 Thomas Lövkvist (Swe) Française Des Jeux
10 Joost Posthuma (Ned) Rabobank 0.05
11 Bobby Julich (USA) Team CSC 0.06
12 Thomas Voeckler (Fra) Bouygues Telecom
13 Daniele Bennati (Ita) Lampre-Fondital
14 Franco Pellizotti (Ita) Liquigas
15 Davide Rebellin (Ita) Gerolsteiner 0.07
16 Gert Steegmans (Bel) Quickstep-Innergetic
17 Cadel Evans (Aus) Predictor-Lotto 0.08
18 Philippe Gilbert (Bel) Française Des Jeux
19 Rémi Pauriol (Fra) Crédit Agricole
20 Jérôme Pineau (Fra) Bouygues Telecom
21 Luke Roberts (Aus) Team CSC 0.09
22 Sylvain Chavanel (Fra) Cofidis

After his win in Madrid he was invited to meet King Albert II and Guy Verhofstadt and wore that shirt, yes.
I know it's kinda WWP, but I can't find any.
